Yes, i'm sceptical. Is that wrong? I think not. If we were to believe everything we read, we'd be a dumb bunch.

lol... i am not going to get a gsx driftster... i just wanted to hear your opinions... lol... galant vr4... i forgot about that car...

sorry bout the delay my computer was messing up....Here's some proof on both the lap times and 1/4 times. No the 1/4 times arn't timeslips, and if it takes TIMESLIPS for you to believe me, then I guess you're not going to believe me in that aspect.

Yeah, I'd like to see also in writing where the Cobra is running better lap times than the STi. Be interesting to see the difference.

Oh, and PR - you're partially right. An STi will destroy a Cobra on a gravel road - but so would a regular WRX. :)

*curses the fact that he now has 2 tires leaking air after a gravel-road 'playtime' the other day...*

Here's some more, straight outa Muscle Mustang and fast fords. They ran it at a 12.6 w/ a strong headwind.

I just got one more thing to say

FABISHAM

What blew us away was what the dyno said after we yanked the air silencer and factory filter out.

So there. Yanking out parts of the engine bay? That's leaving the thing stock alright.

Different cars, different crowds. For that kind of price, there are no better performers. I'd rather have the usability of an EVO/WRX STi, FWIW.

Exactly. I live in Iowa. Any high-powered RWD car is garage-bait when the snow starts to fall.

 Mitsu and Subbie are tryin to sell these as performance vehicles.

If and individual wants an auto, they can purchase a wrx or a lancer.

The STi also doesn't come in a wagon form (just to let you know)...

Not yet anyway...though I'd love to have one. :)

They will probably be bringing over the Evo GTA which has an automatic transmission. That was the original plan anyway.

Edit: And the Evo has been around longer than the Sti. :D

MAyorbill, they are one of those cars that have 4 doors so people can afford insurance? Like 3000GT's have 4 seats, and Silvia's have 4 seats.(silvia = 2 seater if anyone is over 5'4)

No matter the number of seats or doors, they're going to be high insurance for being a turbocharged 300hp car.

I'm talking about ALL Imprezas though, they're tiny.

There are other two door imprezas than the 22b. Infact, i have seen a few in the states. While the new one is not, i am sure the STi's insurance is high becuase it is in essence a performance car... no matter the number of doors. But the insurance is still quite a bit less than lets say a rx-7 fd... which has comparable hp but is a two door hard core and uncomprimised sportscar.

Yep, my WRX is a "Intermediate Performance Car", according to the insurance company - what they call a Symbol 17. The symbol is basically the number that tells you how much your car will cost you. Ask sometime. My wife's '99 Neon is a symbol 14, so you can see that even though the WRX has a turbocharger, it still has four doors, four airbags, four wheel discs with ABS, AWD, and an excellent crash history.
