~TS returns 2 hours later - still unfed, unshaved and unshowered~
such are the joys of being unemployed
I used a very long and heavy '91 GS300 to do the section of GV in question. My GTS-R just wasnt turning my crank today. The GS300 shifts weight slowly and the only mods to it are weight reductions, racing suspension and N2's (oh, and AIDS off) The powertrain and brakes are completely stock, at 291hp and 333ft.lb of torque if i remember accurately. Just something to keep in mind.

hehe, go easy on my music choice, i was just kinda playing around with things
i put two attempts in it. The first one (aka SlingShot) uses turn 8 to propel the car into turn 9. The actual linking gets sketchy here. turn 8 isnt really drifted...but the car is going through the motions required to drift the straight and turn 9. In this particular run weight didnt snap to the left side of the car as quick as i would have liked. Draw your own conclusions about it, i'd be interested to hear them. Personally, I'm unhappy with it.
Second attempt (aka BANG!) does drift turn 8, but pounds the wall on the inside of turn 9. I'm quite certain that limiting the angle out of turn 8 would get me through 9 cleanly - but it just wasnt happening with this car in its current form.
none-the-less, in these two runs I proved to myself that linking this section of GV may be possible in an FR, but is quite difficult and has to have some pretty specific settings.
I think the entry into turn 8 is more crucial than how you tackle turn 7. The link from 8 to 9 is much tighter and more difficult than 6 and 7. I didnt have any issues generating the speed needed to get through 8 and 9, i just kept running out of room everywhere. I'm going to take a smaller car out on this section later and tune it specifially for this section.
