What's the longest you've stayed awake for?

the greatest accomplishment of my life. when i first moved out into my own place, i took about a month off of work. i decided to do an "experiment" to see if a person could go insane in 30 days without any outside world contact. i didnt move my T.V. or radio in and i just stayed in my apartment for 30 days completely ignoring the outside world. anyways i stayed awake for about 3 days just bouncing a tennis ball off the wall trying to set a record of some sort.

I’ve stayed awake for around 30 hours. Anymore than that and I think I’d crack.

When I was 17 and stupid half a lifetime ago for me ... I went on a binge with loads of nasty amphetamins 👎 well over 4 days wide awake whizzing from late Sunday night until Thursday morning and ended up falling asleep on the floor in my flat and never woke for 2 days :dopey: then I was taken to hospital with gastro-interitus *(sp?)*

Damn those were the days! :P :sly:

Heh. Did something quite similar in 1998. party started on sunday too, and it ended... next saturday, just before dawn. Slept for about 6 hours in that time. :ill: After that I went to bed and slept until sunday, late afternoon.

Those were the days indeed.

Other than that I did a 36 hours work shift once, on a very bad server crisis.

I need tons of sleep when I'm deep into running. 9+ every night but I enjoy it.

The most I've ever done was about 48. Every once in a while, last school year, I'd start having huge trouble falling asleep. I'd stay up for as long as I could and my system would reset and I'd be fine for two or so weeks.

You all have me beat; I stayed awake 32 hours back during Labor Day weekend of '94. Thankfully, overtime loomed large for me that week, so I only had to work for 6 hours that day. I felt and looked quite miserable during those last two hours, and promptly slept for 10 hours as soon as I arrived home.

I've done a few all-nighters, mostly not because I wanted to, but because I thought I'd eventually get to sleep. Oh, and I was never very good at sleeping while coming down from an acid trip.

I've been in too much of a routine the past 7 years, so I can't pull more than 18-20 at a time anymore, unless under dire/fun consequences + coffee/RedBull.

Most I've ever been awake for is 42 hours. I had a college work deadline and was so far behind I decided to stay awake until it was done, unfortunatly I don't like coffee, so I was drinking lots of Cola :D

63hrs, me and a mate had a competition over school holidays.... women, pool, beer... so we where easily entertained and time flew by.. until about the 40th hr where things started geting diffucuilt, he bailed at 59... never again. Ive also done numerous alnighters wid the fellas at random parties...

2 all nighters... just me and my cousin.. finished a few endurance races... find out it's 8AM... go ride... all day.

Come back, mess around outside for a few hours... come inside and decided to do another al nighter... wake up the next morning... still not tired and went riding.

Then I slept for a long long time.

3rd (2~3pm I Woke Up) Of July To The 5th (11pm Or So) Of July 2005

Man. I Love Bottle Rockets.
And BLowing Stuff Up.

Once stayed awake for about 32-34 hours...not particulary keen on doing that ever again!

I was up in Scotland, to see a few friends of mine, and just decided, after a fair consumption of booze, to stay awake for the rest of the night. Not a problem you think? Well, was in a hotel, and at about 2AM, still in the hotel bar, there was a group who were high on E....now, that was an interesting period!

(Note: I did not take it, cos i abhorr drugs. Apart from alcohol and coffee)

Oh, how did i get home? Simple, got driven home. It was a five/six hour journey, slept all the way through, till the last 10 mins of the journey!

124~127 hours not sure.

University

Woke up Friday 3am to cram for exam at 9am and 12pm.

Last Exam so it was party all weekend, non-stop.

Me and a friend then stayed playing poker against some randoms we found on Sunday evening till the Monday morning.

We lost. So after going home he fell asleep and I went to my room with same idea.

Thought I'd just check my mail before dozing off.

Found a game called Transport Tycoon.

Finally finished said game on Wednesday about the time everyone was waking up.

All helped by a) alcohol b) red bull c) caffeine tablets d) cigarrettes (LOTS)

I woke up Friday evening.

I am on 26 hours at the moment. Woke up 5am today. Stayed up all night messing around on internet and making sure I iron out any hiccups my webpage transition from one server to the other.

Its 7am now. I have a full day ahead of me of work, then I promised a friend beer at 11pm. So I should be closing 46 hours on this straight.

Four days by way of pep pills, energy drinks, and hamburgers.

I was studying for a road test I never took. Go figure.

(also playing lots and lots of Gran Turismo 3)

Damn it I knew someone would do a thread like this. :grumpy:

I'd say like 30 or so hours but the usual is something like max 2hrs. a night for about a week or so depending on how good my procrastination gets. :dunce:

The longest I've ever stayed awake was when I did the 24h of Le Mans in GT4 with a friend. I was probably awake for 30 hours by the time I went to his house, raced, and got back home.

would have to be around 36-37 hours or so. 8am to 9pm the following day. Stayed up all night playing a game called Starcraft.

Longest I've been awake was about 36 hours, during a lan party.

I stayed wake for seven days when i was seventeen years old. I was writing a novel at the time and it seemed like a good thing to do in the summer holidays , writing and computer games can help with wakefulness . Again, staying awake for one or two days at a time is a regular occurence w/ me and ime suprised its so uncommon here .

Dude, you stayed up seven days, without any substances, doing stuff such as... writing?

You fell in the caffeine cauldron when you were a baby, right?
