I dont think its a hatch

Honda Civic Type R...cant go wrong plus its an amazing looking car
 
too bad that ITR isn't a HATCH!

but, I'd like to add Focus RS ( perfect for FF drifting event in stock form ) and Yaris/Vitz turbo.. plus any Honda with 1,5i ( SOHC power!)

Trust me, the 2nd gen Integra is a hatchback. Both the rear window and the trunk open up.

the ITR and CTR have always been hatches
rear windshield is attached to the trunk and it opens up like a 'hatch'

Don't know if it's an hatchback, but isn't it an FR (engine at the Front, traction at the Rear wheels)?

Some of my favs...

In the light weight category:

Mini Cooper S:
This is one of the best FF cars in the game if you ask me and definately my favorite FF from the Brits. :sly:

'93 Civic SiR:
Probably my favorite early '90s FF.
This Civic responds very well to tuning and at 200hp it can be the king of the category (FF 200 touge).

Heavy weights:

Golf GTI Mk V:
I just love how the car looks and at more than 1300kg, this seems like a heavy car. However, the torque is awesome (at over 200 ft.lb) and the handling is sharp.

Overall:
My 2 favorite hatchbacks (FF).

TRD Celica:
What can I say? Awesome torque, low weight, really sharp steering with a tendency for snap-oversteer... This is a car to be mastered.

Civic R (EK9):
More "tame" than the celica, this Civic is very well behaved and capable of great racing feats when tuned or in stock form. I also think this is the best looking of all Civics. :sly:

I will be back with more commentary on my favorite FF hatchbacks but for now my list is complete.
(btw, that update will definately include a whole new group of great FF cars like the Vitz and DC5)

I wish it was! :drool: you're thinking of the AE86 (the last FR Toyota Corolla) this is the AE111, it's FF. (BTW, the first AE code chassis that was FF was the AE92).

Oh, the Ruf CTR is about as far as you can get from an FF hatchback!:lol: J/K

My favourite FF Hatch? That would be the 2003 Peugeot 106 Rallye.

I got this thing in white, with the stock white steel rims and it looks sexy as hell. And the handling is very good too!

Yeah...i forgot my previous (real life) car!Even if a had an s16 (called 'rallye' here),i prefer in the game the rallye version (1600 cc,8v ohc) because with the semi racing exhaust,it makes 95% the sound that did my car with an induction kit,and a supersprint groupN exhaust...And while in real life it has more oversteer,in the game is still an absolute pleasure to drive,with some tuning of course.
 
my fav's are definately the vw golf gti (05 or 04) and the golf r32. they are too good.

but the honda civic type r isn't bad...
 
One car I just drove was the VW Lupo Cup Car, and that was fun:D.

Another Civic I like is the Muguen Motul Si Race car. Not really fast, but it's just too cool :)
 
I'm surprised the MINI hasnt been mentioned more. Its a awesome drive, looks a little cheesy, but its brilliant.
 
mine is definitely the civic eg6 sirII. its been doing wonders against my ek type r and other ff cars
 
my white '76 VW Golf GTI tuned to my specs.... extremly fun fast light and can even drift a bit:sly:

i also liked my maroon '01 VW Golf GTI tuned up but recently sold it:tdown: needed quick cash:ouch:
 
A car I didn't even bother to look at for quite some time is the Honda Accord Coupe (honda.com-link) ... this car is excellent if you just want to cruise around a track and take your time.

As soon as you 'dig it, this car gets really serious - and it's actually (being stock, keep that in mind) so easy to handle and yet quite fast, i couldn't believe it.

Maybe it's just me having had the wrong FF-cars up until now, but this one stays in line and is showing no understeer at all. That Accord <really> surprised me a bit.
 
How can a Golf from '76 get round the ring in 7.41?
A Proto Spirra takes around that long.

Anyway, my favourite FF hatch is probaly the Cooper S of course

They're all over rated. Any of them with 250-300+ HP do nothing but spin the tires (no aids). FWD is useless when it comes to performance. Economy, sure, its practical.

Before you sit and attempt to defend them, give me your Civic Nation bull****, or expell your ricer mentality, think about this:

Why is there no such thing is a PREMIUM or EXOTIC FWD CAR? Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche...... etc etc.

BMW M series? RWD. Mercedes AMG? RWD. Corvettes, Vipers, pretty much ANY exotic is RWD or AWD.

Even Honda knows this. Their top of the line model? NSX - RWD. Their premium Honda, S2000, RWD.

I drive a '92 Legend daily, so I'm not "Hating" I just find performance oriented FWD cars are useless. For all of you that like torque steer, replacing axles, having no traction, etc... high horsepower FWD is for you!

Its just sad to think how fun an Integra Type R, Civic Type R, my Legend, a Ford SHO Taurus, SRT, etc would be if they were RWD.

Oh well. To answer the initial question, I don't care for any of them in the game. I own a few, to complete the races, but keep them pretty much stock.

Please do not act like a moderator if you are not one. Particularly if you are going to act like a wrong moderator.

He did exactly what he was supposed to do - found an old thread on the subject and added his thoughts to the end of the existing discussion. If he had posted a new thread saying what his favorite FWD car was, 10 people would have dogpiled on him telling him to search. So when he does that himself, you jump on him and telling him not to bring up an old thread? Wrong move.

People are yelled at for gravedigging when they bring up an old thread and add some stupid or off-topic post in order to fool people into thinking it's a new thread. The post that bumped this thread does not qualify as gravedigging.



On topic, although I prefer RWD, I do have a number of FWD cars I really enjoy driving.
  • Honda Integra Type R - I've seen a full-build one beat the GT One around Seattle, for 3 laps
  • VW Lupo/Lupo Cup Racer
  • EK Civic racecar

Many of these are very popular in amateur club racing, which interests me a lot. So I don't mind putting up with the FWD handling (though I agree, anything over about 250 hp is missing the point). I like momentum cars.

Favorite FF hatch, 310hp, 98 Honda Integra Type-R (DC2)

Might also have something to do with the fact that i drive an integra with racing suspension in real life..

Also with the suspension setup correctly, the car has a good bit of oversteer.. and the 310hp NA type-r is faster than the 386hp turbo type-r
