So my name is Dean, my wife's maiden name was Lowe, and her family is from Hong Kong... when I first met her family they started calling me something which I thought was "Dean Lowe" so I figured that meant I had some sort of acceptance into the family straight away...
Turns out that they were saying Din Lo in Cantonese which loosely translates to Crazy Man.
I've never really considered personal plates, but recently they had a special on the black plastic numberplates and that means I can velcro the front one to my car and it will bend to the curve and I can pull it off when I do a track day.
So when I had the car in the workshop they had a board up with the list of cars they were working on and it had Dean's Lotus and on the tag on the keys they had put DN LO... I figured that was some sort of sign so I got DN10 for the plate. People mistake it for DINO or Dean's Lotus, but really it's an in joke back at my wife's family for calling me Din Lo, so I wear that nickname like a badge of honour now.
#53. I'm not ashamed to admit it; my first exposure to motorsport was watching The Love Bug over and over. To this day, one of the first things I do is buy all the Beetles in the game.
