After it has been out for roughly a year or so. That being, when the bugs are worked out of them.

*will be reading many, many reviews beforehand*

Not anytime soon. I'm investing the money elsewhere but I'm definitely looking forward to the streams & reviews people will release for the next-gen games.

Will be getting it sometime in 2014.
Always bought my PS's about a year after release, so all bugs and stuff are fixed and up until now it payed off as my ps2 and ps3 are still problem free.
And it will have more games available by then.

I'm getting mine whenever Amazon decide to send it to me. Which according to them is anytime between November 29th and December 25th.

PS4 is already slim like the PS3 slim and I do not think there will be price drop before 3years. PS4 slim will definitely use smaller chip and consume less power like they did for PS3. But they may also use cheaper plastic to reduce the price. Honestly I would happily pre-order PS4 for 500$ if it was backward compatible with PS3.

When a game comes out for it that I give a crap about.

Here be my answer.

I've never understood the rush to get new systems on release. Especially in Sony's case, where they've historically had hilariously weak launch-day lineups. PS4 doesn't look to change this, and I'm fine with that; I can wait until the first price reduction, just like I waited for a while for PS3.

Local best buy says they should have between 30 & 50 extra to sell. Gonna try to convice the wife to let me head out tonight.

When some form of GT is on it I suppose. I like Naughty Dog games but that could be a while too.
Also need to know if my G25 and Fanatec wheels are compatible which should be known very soon if not already.

Not impressed with paying for online and no external hard drive support but much will change in 1-2 years.

Taxes and distribution aren't free, though. I think I read on a Kickstarter for some other device that taxes in the EU bump the price up by 20-25% over what it would be in the US, so that's already up to £300 (20% of 250 is 50), then you have to ship them here as I'm sure they're not made in the EU, and then there are other fees I imagine (I have no idea) so it's not as if Sony have just bumped the price up for a laugh; even if they had been made here as well as wherever they actually are being made they'd still be more expensive than in the US because of taxes.

I'll be getting mine for MGS V, possibly shipped to me from the States as my Sister is going there in March.

Graphic cards are usually exchange rate and VAT, similar size box and weight, made in the same place.

R9 290 is $400 lowest and £300-10 lowest. I think at least either £299, which is a very eye catching price and magical price point, especailly compared to £429 on Xbox One or throw a £30 game in. There's certainly a case for PS4 being £320 with all costs so there's some scope for a better deal for £350. Bare bones console for £350 is a bit mean fisted.

After 6 months I expect to see good value bundles so not really bothered too much about Sony charging a little more. Another point is Sony are said to be taking a $60 loss on each unit. Perhaps this is more for the US market where they lost by a lot last gen and EU/UK will adjust if sales drop slightly.

I get your point though that the £50 difference is not major, some items do have £20-30 added on top for shipping if the item stock is low and Sony may have some extra guidelines to follow in EU that other items priced fairly don't have.

as far as wheel support I read that sony said its up to the game developer if they support the wheels. that makes since why drive club developer said the wheels work on the ps4. hoping its true I got a fanatic csr wheel my self.

Not until more games are released (especially ones im interested in), most if the teething problems have been resolved and maybe a Price drop/ decent bundle arrives.

This is the voice of sense, rationality and intellect. 👍

Considering the fact that the damn thing is £100 more in Britain than it is in America, I won't be buying until the price levels out. Its like $400 in America, that translates into about £250, but somebody at Sony thought the number was too low and it looked too cheap so ramped it up to £350 whilst ignoring the exchange rate.
wow, for once you get an even worse deal than Australia! It's only $549 here, a big improvement from the PS3's $1,000

Well, the PS1 had WipEout, the PS2 had SSX, the PS3 had... MotorStorm and Resistance I suppose, but almost no game would have been worth shelling out your $1,000 for a PS3 in '06. I think the main reason people buy consoles at launch is a need for social acceptance, a desperate need for desperately vacant people who insist on buying it day one to say "I was there". I don't understand it either, I'll be getting a PS4 Christmas 2014 at the absolute earliest (for MGSV: The Phantom Pain), though more likely whenever the next GT comes

I will be getting the X1 next gen and will not get the PS4. I hardly ever used my PS3 other than for the blu ray player and a few exclusives. I truly enjoyed Killzone 3, the Encharted series, The Last of us, and LBP. Now that the X1 will have a blu ray player, I will be getting rid of my PS3 sometime in 2014 to get the X1. 99% of my gaming experience is online and xboxlive has always been miles ahead IMO of the PS2, PS3 online experience especially with the 8 player party chat. Plus the X1 will have dedicated servers so since 99% of my gaming experience is online, its just the perfect gaming system FOR ME.

I will be keeping my PS2, trading in PS3 toward X1. Just not until around spring 2014. ish.

Like @Tornado and @SlipZtrEm before me. This is a pretty weak launch lineup of games, not even a single Ridge Racer in sight :(

I'll get it either when my dad wants to (Given horse shouldn't be looked in the mouth) or when the price drops and some interesting games come out, I'm especially expecting GT.

I'm gonna buy it afte mine PS3 dies, I have no rush with it but it seems that my PS3 has

15 hours from now. :D

Yes sir.

Battlefield 4 is a huge game for me. Also I get the luxury of playing multiplats like Madden or Need for Speed with higher visual fidelity then last gen. So theres games, but I understand if some think thats not enough to warrant a purchase yet.

I might get a PS4 when Tom Clancy's The Division comes out ( looks absolutely awesome ).But that will be in December next year.If some great games come out before that, i will consider it.I might get Theif game.

2015, when they get the teething issues that may happen sorted out and I have the money to spend on it.
