i wrote a short little guide for the lotus's (lotii?) in the 'technique for beating those samba buses' thread.
Long story short though, if you can get into 3rd or 4th in the first lap, you're laughing

Bought the dfgt today and got fiirst place on my third try. Nice wheel by the way.
Actually quite easily :/ ... Was struggling with my gamepad and DFP wheel of a friend of mine.

Damn it. this race is ridiculous. Those idiots in the other vans just stall you , break WAY to hard in the corners while driving next to each other with 3 vans. And when you try to overtake them , they just smash you in the rear and spin of the track. And why can they hit the pylons and we can't ? Doesn't make any sense. I manage to keep getting 2nd but at the last corner , I just cant overtake the first guy because he just blocks it. So annoying.

I've read somewhere the race gets easier when you have a higher lvl. I'm currently lvl. 5. Any idea if this is true of false ?

You can do time trials in Practice Mode but as racing is concerned, I'm on level 23 & ain't come across a TGTT race event apart from the special event!

Hey all, I was extremely frustrated with the Lotus race and saw some of you also were too. I tried it with TC on 10, except acceleration was appalling so I tried it on 7, got it 2nd go. So, If you're stuck try it with Driving Line on, Skid Recovery ON, TC on 7 and you're laughing I know it's cheating with all the aids on but I found after an hour it was the only way

That is way too high, you can easily manage with TC 1. TC is a real help with the lotus challenge though. Only time i have ever used it.

As for the samba bus; use the slipstream people 👍

It's cheating yourself, but not cheating.You should use it if you need but look to reduce it eventually to 0 over time.

I have bronze on the Samba bus event, that's all I could manage without my controller becoming the victim from rage-destruction.

The Lotus event: it's ridiculously unrealistic... There's NO WAY a car will start sliding if you carefully brake while going 40km/h... NO WAY... Yet this piece of **** Lotus does.

These challenges are a one big middle finger stuck up to car fans, and have nothing to do with the Top Gear TV programme whatsoever.

ey man, i have the exact same problem.

gold on the third one, bronze on the first two.

really hoping someone can help with this.. i think i even got a trophy saying i should have the track but it's not there in practice.

which "group" of race tracks is it supposed to be in when selecting in the practice menu.

the lotus is just ridiculous, i came close with my DS3 but i don't stand a chance with my new dfgt.

i guess ill try and gold the samba event.....

Samba Bus definitely unlocked it for me. Then drove it in arcade mode which seemed to make it appear everywhere else.

Think it comes under World Circuits in practise - quite a long way along the list.

I've golded all 3 with my standard controller now, but definitely had it appear after Samba Bus - I golded the Kubel race first & didn't get the track at that point.
