Well let's try. GT3 was on a different platform. It is highly unlikely that the code from GT3 is useful at all in GT5. There is a reason why PS2 games will not work on the PS3 afterall.

Play Metal Gear Solid 4........They've done it.....There one of those super console Dev's......Just Like PD......Im Pretty sure they could have done it....If they could manage to put 3d....smh

When the list was released I looked for 4 cars. Only four:

-Aston Martin DBR1 (the new one)
-Ford Focus RS (2009)
-Alfa Romeo 8C
-Ford Escort mk1

one out of four aint good PD and I really wasnt asking for much!!!

cars which i really miss:

at most i miss the Koenigsegg family :(.

the new E63 AMG T would have been nice too.

more Bentley cars, the Le Mans car is not enough.

more Maseratis ( Quattroporte, Coupe )

More Bugattis ( EB110 etc.... )

the list of great cars i miss is long, i hope PD will give us a few for DLC

The thing is that often when it comes to switching platforms it is better to start over than try to re-use code that was intended for a different platform. Sometimes you can use the existing code and sometimes not and sometimes even when you can re-use it is better not to.

On top of that if code was going to be re-used in GT5 it would be GT4 code rather than code from an older version.

Mind you I have been developing software for the last 20 years.

Cool no beef here.....But there is still no excuse for them.

the e30 is missing ,the e36 .the merc clk dtm. the mercedes c43 ????why did they not put en the c43 ? but they did put the c63 in, I think they do not show respect to mercs lovers .

You are absolutley right about these cars. Especially C43AMG !!

Actually That's a different can of worms altogether the reason there were backwards compatible ps3's to begin with is that initially two chips were included with the console; the emotion engine, and the chip used for graphics rendering. Playstation 1 games were done completely through software emulation from the start. As the PS3 got older, the emotion engine chip was replaced with a software emulated version in the new consoles, but the graphics rendering chip remained; as emulating it correctly on the PS3 caused too much slowdown for most games; yes that's right the PS3 can't fully emulate the PS2 through software. eventually both chips were phased out completely, and that's where we are today with Playstation 2 compatibility. so in MGS4 that flashback sequence, even if it was utilizing the emulator, was only running a ps1 game, not ps2.

And in regards to the use of code it seems a little misleading. sure bits and pieces of code could have been used from gt4 to gt5, but that would have been inefficient in terms of resource usage. Of course this is all just thinking out loud on this part; as I haven't used a PS3 devkit. But it looks more like models and assets outside of code were used from gt4->gt5.

but that's just one man's opinion.

Code...shmode...PD needs a FARO arm & a mechanical engineer or two;

Faro arms are amazing to use. Not cheap...but cheaper than 3,000 man-hours X 200

Makes sense.

Have you guys seen the apex....Lol...I believe the E30 M3 will be in here one day. PD even recognized the M3 for being one of the most popular cars.

i was really hoping for a mitsubishi starion :( oh well

I truly hope so... an amazing car.... let's hope for DLCs...

I'm not a fan of BMW, but the one car they made that i do like is not in the game and I could do without all the other BMW cars, if they just had the e30.
It's one of the cars i expected to be in the game, along with mitsubishi starion, ford escort mk 1 or 2, ford sierra cosworth.

GT5 Prologue, GT5 PSP, a completely new game engine, weather modelling, track editor, Nascar, biggest vehicle roster ever in a game, most detailed vehicles ever in a game, karts, not to mention developing two future hypercars ( GT by Citroen and the Red Bull X1 ).

Idle, workshy fops!

The 1000+ car roster holds no weight when the majority of the cars are duplicate models and 800+ of the cars are standard and horribly modeled.

The standard models were just thrown in there without being properly modeled. So basically you have a 200+ car roster that are awesome plus other great features.

basically. I guess for now I will just have to enjoy driving my M5....

Not only are those missing, but I have found that they have cars like the Elise but not the "Exige S" (or I haven't found it yet)

I wish they would have added a Zonda F and a Lotus Exige.

Cant believe they still dont have the Lotus Exige.....

I wonder if there will be more cars later in the game or available through downloading.
