Did you ever try the King's Hawaiian sandwich rolls they sell here in the SoCal area? Those are great for Sloppy Joes, or a homemade burger made with BBQ sauce and a slice of pineapple.

kings makes some of the best bread ever....

we always get the hawaiian rolls when we get fried chicken
