1973 Corvette Stingray 350 Coupe (Almost the same as '69 Convertible)

Then there's a bit of a gap:
2004 Infiniti G35X (Also same as Skyline Sedan)
2008 Infiniti G35XS (Also same as Skyline Sedan)
2009 Infiniti G37X (Also same as Skyline Sedan)

My mother also has a BMW 3-series and had a Z4.

the proper old school mini

as for ones I've driven, I think it's just

Lambo Gallardo
Aston db9
Lotus Elise s2

Cars I've owned:

'66 Pontiac Ventura - closest thing in GT is a '64 GTO which had the same engine/transmission but otherwise is completely different
'05 Pontiac GTO - The '04 GTO is in as a standard, but has 50 less hp, less torque, smaller brakes, and vastly different exterior styling.

Other cars I have a lot of experience with:

'57 MGA 1500 - Really surprised there aren't more British roadsters in the game, they're a ton of fun to drive.
'99 Toyota Camry - Piece of crap, surprised GT isn't stuffed with them (sorry, a little perturbed)
'98 Chevy Suburban - wouldn't expect that in any racing game, obviously
'05 GMC Yukon XL - Again, wouldn't expect this in a racing game
'05 Ford Explorer - Again.... you know
'98 Oldsmobile Alero - Yeah... this wouldn't be in a game either. Not exactly "sporty"... then again, neither is a Prius. Blech.
'04 Pontiac Grand Prix GT - Not a bad car, pretty sporty and the heads-up display was super cool. Wouldn't mind a Grand Prix GTP in the game.

So really, the only two cars I have a lot of time in that aren't in the game are the '05 GTO and the '57 MGA. Honestly all I was hoping for was for them to do an '04-'06 GTO as a premium so I could sit in my car in the game and drive, but no dice. Oh well, I'll have to stick to driving it on real racetracks in real life. It's just a lot more expensive that way.

Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) ‘91
Toyota MR2 1600 G-Limited Super Charger ‘86
Toyota MR2 G-Limited ‘97
Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX (AE86) ‘83

Owned...

Just my 2008 Volkswagen Gti which I believe is represented by a 2006 or whatever year it came out in Europe which I think is 2004. Correct me if I am wrong.

Driven on the other hand would be a long list lol :).

Cheers guys, 3 pages of in game car descusion without any tantrums regarding any one of a 100,000 cars that didn't make it in and how that's totaly ruined the game LOL

Look foreward to racing some of you guys in GT5 and putting some of my favourite cars up against yours and seeing if the micras faster than the old skool mini (used to run them in classic rallys so had a few in various twisted states LOL)

This isn't a "bragging thread" really, check mine and most lists on here you'll see some prety mundane cars. you'll also see some really nice stuff from all over the world, we are after all car enthusiasts and petrol heads to certain degrees.

Moving slightly left of center topic wise......Forza 2 and 3.....No this isn't going to be a comparison in any way (shock horror) I played those two titles quite alot, in the case of Forza 2 I played it far to much. One of the things which used to generate the closest racing was the lower class races, setting a sub 200bhp or 300bhp limit used to require some serious thought on car selection and tuning, and the races were always very close run things. Hope to do something like this in GT5, set a class for a weekend race of say 5 different tracks and give people a week to sort out there entry cars.

Anyone interestead in this? First race could be bring your first GT5 car and set a performance limit in quick tune to componsate for those who are nocternal and have amassed a huge selection of tuning parts. Anyway throw your suggestions in the hat.

Honda Integra Type-R DC2 '96
Nissan 180SX Type-X '94
Toyota Sprinter Trueno BZ-G (not BZ-R) '96 & '98
Honda Civic (not SiR) '94 & '95

I've always liked that kind of low end racing, I'd be up for it!

I've never owned a car from the GT series but I did drive some of them :

Citroën C3 '02
Fiat Punto '00
Mercedes A160 '98
Nissan March G '99
Toyota Starlet '97

Owned and present in GT5:
Peugeot 206 (mine was the XT90... lame car)
Nissan Micra 160SR (cup version)

Owned or driven frequently and not in GT5:
500 Abarth SS (2009)
360 Modena F1 (2004)

Got a ride in... also in GT5:
Ferrari Enzo
Shelby Cobra
Seat Ibiza Cupra
maybe other ricers in the list...

Toyota CELICA 2000GT-R (ST162) ‘86
S13 hatchback
R33 Skyline

lol all my cars pretty cool

'91 Celica GT Four (ST185), bought new. Obviously not in rally spec though. A quick check on the UK car register shows that its still read taxed so at least I know its not ended up in a ditch since I sold it (unlike my Porsche 924 which hasn't been taxed since about 2003. Here's to hoping its only been forgotten about in someone's shed!).

I owned a 190E 2.3, but the SOHC version. The one in-game is the 190E EVO II 2.5 with DOHC.

My PSN : MaxPrez90.

Add me when GT5 comes out, cause I'm totally up for that.

My car list from start to now is
Ford fiesta ghia (mk1)
Vauxhall astra GTE (mk2)
Vauxhall calibra 2.0
Ford escort (mk6)
Landrover freelander V6
Racing Dynamics E34 bmw
Renaultsport clio 172
Peugeot 306 gti-6
Vw Beetle V5 sport
Mazda Rx7 (fd3s)
Mercedes B200turbo
Mercedes R350L
So not many of my former cars are in the game.
Peoples point of being a bit angry is there are so many cars in the game that are exactly the same just 1 year newer, and there are so many legendary cars missing.

I'll post up a thread once GT5 is out regarding the perfomance limits and tracks and race lenghs, probubley run a points system with it, TT points and race points, just so everyone gets some practice in and it gives an indication to people where they stand as far as race pace.

As people get further into the game it would be good to run some model specific races as well, say mini races or what ever or bring what you own races.

No doubt there will be lots of racing events posted on GTPlanet and other forums around the web, but until the games out actualy seeing how it will be easiest to run remains a mystery

Nice list SCUD, and yeah understand peoples point, but there's plenty of topics covering that, and to be honest I just don't care especialy with the comments that the game is ruined because this that and the other isn't in the game, there's a limit as to how long they could spend butting the game together and theyv'e gone way over that as it is. Theres a wide selection of cars from minis to F1 cars theres plenty of iconic cars in there and there's plenty of the more mundane models, but as people can see in this thread people are looking foreward to racing the more mundane selections. It's a driving sim not poekomon car collecting. Now I'm doing what I said I wouldn't, so I'll leave that topic with this comment.

If you like it buy it and enjoy it, if you don't then don't, but please don't spend hours discussing why you don't like the game, I don't like citoren cars, but I don't spend my life on citoren forums telling everyone why there fools for buying one, because I know simply because I find something wrong for me dosn't mean it's wrong for everyone. And no little niggles are great to discuss, but when you describe those niggles (it dosn't have a particular car in it ) as if it was the ruin of the whole product it gets tedious to others.

End no doubt I'll get dragged into this closer to release LOL

My Favourite GT5 video so far is the recent one with the Motul Civic Race car (sound comparison).

I used to own a little 1.4 Honda Civic - and I made low quality videos of me driving around in the dark (with similar orange sodium street lights.)

The sound of the engine - especially at the parts where the car had to slow down in to 1st or 2nd gear was very reminiscent of my old videos. So I enjoyed that video alot.

My mom and dad own these cars:

'10 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 (Guess I'll have to settle for the '98 in game)
'05 Hyundai Tiburon (Cool that it's in, but where is the Genesis?)
'05 Hyundai Santa Fe (Obviously not in the game)
'00 Infiniti G20 (Guess I'll have to go with the '90)(My real first car beings I am 16)

I'll be looking forward to driving these the most, because we have them in real life. It will be great to see how they perform in comparison.:)

I have also driven more recently a BMW 120d '10, a BMW 330i ‘07 and a Mini Cooper S.

(Can you tell which company my work has a lease agreement with :))

My boss has the M3 coupe - a car I will NEVER be allowed to drive - but I look forward to trashing it in Gran Turismo.

Drove the mini in GTp - this was before I drove the car in real life I think - spent most of my time in that car trying not to look too camp so don't remember much from it.

The BMW video I have seen recently sounded very similar to the one I drove - which is good.

Most of the BMWs in the game are starting to look a bit dated (5 or 6 years old now).
