I still haven't bothered to do any of those.

I beg to differ Streetfighter.. with a fully tuned R34, one can achieve better acceleration when drifting, especially in long drifts.

just to clear something up.. the gtr-r34 isnt awd. ITs actually a mix of fr/4wd because when the front wheels lose traction the adv tcs sends 50% of power to the front and back which means the car isnt totally awd everytime.its built around an fr design.Aslo not sure if you can switch the car out of 4wd to complete fr but you can convert the car to full time Rwd.

no its partial 4wd with only 5% of power going to the front wheels.but mainly its always in rwd mode untill the tcs senses loss of grip on the front wheels and goes into total 4wd drive mode.

Know what? I don't care how much power is going to the front wheels. It's going there, and it enjoys it. Its AWD, end of convo.

Me too, on the Fat Bowl. I will be just fine with my S14, though.

I think the faster you go, the easier it is to control cuz the sudden movements of the stick and buttons don't have as a dramatic effect as they do at lower speeds. Plus, how many real life drifters have like 500hp drift cars and don't get out of the drivers seat with soiled pants?

Until I get a wheel, I'm sticking with my cheater's GTR.
The control sticks on the Dual Shock 2 kinda suck for precision steering, especially at those low speeds.

Anyone had a chance to try this new Driving Force Pro or whatever it's called?

Due to the extraordinary control of the R34 Vspec, I've been trying something on the corkscrew.

Drive backwards towards the enterance then turn sharply as to rotate the car clockwise, then e-brake to lock the desired angle. This should slow you down significantly until you reach the apex of the first corner, where you accel to get the wheels spinning in gear 1, sliding through full lock, which will then cause the car to rotate clockwise so you can power through the second corner, possibly upshifting towards the end.

It's wierd cuz if you can do it right, your weight stays transfered to the front.

Yeah, low power makes the most impressive replays, and requires the most skill IMHO.

I tried grip driving again for the first time in months, but being used to the laid back drift sessions where errors didn't really matter, I got so frustrated that I crushed my controller with my hands...

All I was trying to do was unlock some more arcade tracks.
