a) Barely anyone in this forum has played the 'Ring in GT4
b) There isn't many screenshots of the 'Ring in GT4
c) Theres very little footage of the 'Ring in GT4
d) Most people here haven't even played PGR2 it seems, let alone the 'Ring in PGR2 or simply dismiss PGR2 altogether.
e) This poll is useless since it will be completely biased in GT's favour anyway........so whats the point?
Sure you're probably right for some people, but you're exaggerating now.
a) I talked to Ty from IGN and we have jizzmirk's experience. Unfortunately, neither of these have driven the real Nürburgring like many people I know in Europe have. But that's not really the point. Mr. Kazunori boasts a precision of maximum 3cm (just over an inch) devation from the real track. Combined with my experience with Fuji and Tsukuba, that means a lot to me.
b) no, but enough to see how well those sections compare to the real thing and to confirm a).
c) again, sufficient.
d) I have an Xbox and PGR2 is one of my favorite games on it. Again, I have also played the other two known versions. The people who drove this and drove the real thing complained that there were still many differences. Anyone can confirm, just look at recent videos posted at
www.nurburgring.de for instance (or was it
www.nordschleife.de). Basically the track is smoothed out in PGR2, although that feeling is exaggerated by the arcade handling of the game.
e) What's the meaning of life?
Anyway, if there was to be a poll then better now, not when GT4 is released because then there won't be a question about if it is better or not. But you're right to an extent - when we get to play this track in November (if ... ) we'll know the answer. My own point is that so far no track has been very exact, and for the first time, it seems we'll have a version that really is. I live not too far from the Ring and once I have my drivers licence I'll surely head over there.
