I'm a bit confused here; didn't I start this thread? I mean, it's not the end of the world, but I seem to have been completely erased from existence here!

Agreed. I love all Touring but the BTCC has the best Circuits in my opinion and the racers are great fun to watch, I could only imagine how much fun it would be to drive in a game (no good BTCC mod has been released for rFactor, unfortunately.) ALMS would be great too, but rFactor already has many great *LMS mods so it isn't a huge deal if it doesn't see the light of day on console.

I also agree with the DBR9 vote.

*edit* Also maybe some Skoda's, and VW TDI Cup.

Formula 1 is fun...but I prefer D1GP more!! (I always drift in online races~)It would be good if I can hear the MCs voice while I drift!!

Yeah it's also great. Some players always enjoy doing it on the track, even during a race.
 
Eh, I acknowledge that Drifting is a form of "racing" just as Time Attack and Drag are (but not at that level), so I think it would be foolish to not include it in any GT title. I respect it for what it is. With that being said, I never play it if I don't have to (i.e. NFS: Shift in order to 100% complete the Career mode) and do not have the slightest idea how it evolved into such a large "sport"/lifestyle thing. I am sure I am in the minority with this one.

I would like to see a lot of racing series in GT5.

How good would it be to be the F1, DTM, ALMS, V8 supercars, Nascar, IRL, BTCC, WTC champion at the same time?

Bit of a fantasy. I also love the idea of "classic racing series" such as having a bunch of F1 cars from the early 90's, some classic touring cars, CART etc.

In an ideal world, GT5 would have the '90 F1 world championship, a 70's world championship (it could actually be called that. They could just include a bunch of 70's F1 cars) and the "New millenium world championship". featuring F1 cars from 2000 up until 2007.

Personally, I'd be willing to sacrifice most of the road cars (apart from the supercars) and just have 1000 touring cars, sports cars, prototype, rally, F1, indycars etc.

The rumored (but probably not gonna happen) track creation tools combined with some livery altering tools and we could create the best racing game ever.

If this doesn't happen, then I'll just take gt5 anyway.
 
I certainly don't agree with replacing all the road cars with racing cars but i do like the idea of more classic GP cars from the 50's onwards or even before and a lot more classic Le Mans racers.

That "new millenium" series might be very nice too, as the problem with licences would be less of a concern.

I love cars, but I'm much more interested in racing cars. Difficult to explain... I'd love it if GT5 had track creator and livery creator tools.

Combined with an indepth car customising tool, this could be a lot of fun. I.E. Take a ford mondeo, strip out the excess weight, add a more powerful engine, turbo chargers, exhausts, suspension etc. Get 15 other gt planet members, they can "buy" an exact copy of the above car off you, create their own liveries, then you can have a weekly racing series tailored to suit you.

Same could be done with any cars. With good track creation skills, a bunch of gt planet users could make some current f1 tracks and some classics. Then you could all use the F2007, create your own livery, and have a weekly race series. Can't really believe a game like this doesn't exist, but that's just me.

Put a v12 in it if you want :)

Edit: had an idea...

You could have a racing series for customised cars. The rules are simple, you can use any car you want, but it must be heavily customised. The cost of the car and all modifications must be under a specific limit. Would be interesting to see what people could come up with.

Believe it or not, the V12 engine of Aston Martin was created by making two of those Duratec V6's into one engine.
Ofcourse they redesigned a lot of the parts but that engine formed the basis out of cost considerations ( Ford owned Aston at the time ).

So yes, it is a good engine, if it is good enough for an Aston.......

Fair enough, you like racing cars more than road cars, that's fine as everybody has their personal preferences.
What you're describing sounds very good to me, it's a bit like the RPG thread i started but perhaps more realistic and less far-stretching because you use standard cars as the basis.
 
I'd love to see, the entire European Touring Car Championship from the 60's, 70's, 80's.That for me would be awesome.Plus Le Mans races during the 50's onwards.For GT6 or maybe dlc.Plus these :

Targa Florio ( need good long stretch for this race )
Mille Miglia
FIA European Truck Racing (eras from 80's, 90's, 00 onwards)
Banger Racing (Euro & American)

I think I would agree with the poll, except for i'd have F1 as my favourite and then the FIA. But I know that Formula 1 won't be included, so the FIA would be a massive bonus if it is.
 
I would like super1 series karting. It encourperates lots and lots of karting class's in seperate races however it is one series.
 
Formula 1. FIA GT Championship. SuperGT. That's my wishlist. And of course, People Carrier Racing.

Kia Carens vs. Citroen Picasso vs. Ford S-Max vs. Peugeot 3008 anybody?
 
I did the Australian V8 series, because I'd like to see a few more Aussie cars in GT. Alothough I'd also like to have the Viper ACR-X, which Dodge will be using in the new "Viper Cup".

Not sure if this is filed under WTCC, but I'm going to say my #1 pick would be the JGTC series (every year until now.)
Anything is actually good for me, just add it to the list of stuff we hope PD is including. :)
 
I voted for International GT championships, I mean, the game already pretty much have them but the official cars would be great. British GT would be cool too, TVR T400s, Moslers, etc.
But also smaller championships, weather based on the real ones or imitated, so, Clio cup, Megane Trophy, Fiesta championship, VW cup (Caddy van n' all) would all be great fun.
