Which rims are the best?

You describing exacly what you've been doing since you joined .

I've asked questions buddy, mostly related to the topic at hand, people take it off topic because they feel the need to defend something that I think most have no idea about just like this thread. Then the gang mentality kicks in for them and they feel they need to gang up and bully people into not replying or leaving. They do not control what I say, if they reply to my comments which are on topic in my first posts then that is them having a go at me and causing an arguement dragging it off topic, put it this way nobody has any idea about me and my dealings with GTP, only the administrators have had that priviledge. I'm here to educate people and get to the truth of things, if I believe something to not be proven 100% I will question their knowledge which hurts the big egos round here, fact is you think you are the majority around here and have some sort of power over what I can and can't question. It is my right to question unproven facts and without people doing this nobody will ever truly learn.

But once again you post off-topic after I have not told you to go away, I have not told you that you should leave GTP, I have simply stated that you have given your opinion on the topic, you've done that and you've had your chance to say what you want to say so I have asked you to stop cluttering up my thread with useless banter about something that has nothing to do with this thread, so once again please stop posting unless you are talking about the differences in rims' effects on cars' times. Thank you.

Out of interest Maccer, did you notice you could not match 0-60's and 0-100's when changing them? I have tried about 5-6 rims on one of my most consistent fast cars and could not get them to match even after many many runs.

At the time when I was tuning a DC2 I did, I got my best time with the VOLK'S switched to the BBS -LRM's and it made my 0-60 very incosistant, not always slower, but it was much harder to match my bast time with these rims. Im currently doing some tests with the Supra 2.5GT Twin Turbo to see if there is a difference between each rim, will post pictures of my results shorty.

Wow. put your claws away girls. Its just a game..
As far as the toic is concerned, which aftermarket rim dosen't matter, Each one give the same result no matter the design.

Lol this guy cracks me up beyond hilariousness.
I told you dude it doesn't make a difference. But you kept asking the same question till you get and answer you already know? What's wrong with you? Idno why I keep posting in your threads.
I've seen low IQ people but you definitely take the cake bro. Big ups!

Here is the results of a few quick tests with the Supra to see if there is a difference between aftermarket rims.

Three things to take note here,
1: My Supra is de-tuned to 502HP this may give different results to a full power Supra.
2: I run these tests in auto for consistant shift points, but with it being an auto run im missing peak shift points, running in manual for peak shift points could produce different results but it will be hard to tell if the difference comes because of the rims, or just slightly better shifting.
3: I used the same tune for each run, it may be possible that certain wheels will need ajustments to the tune to get any benifits from using them.

Well as you can see when running in auto on my Supra I go no difference between a few of the aftermarket rims, but other cars may be different, and I still personaly feel that the VOLK TE37's are the best choice as I find it easier to run consistant times in manual with them, and I feel the BBS LM-R's to be the most incosistant when in manual.

But I dont feel my test results are a conclusive answer to the question.

Once again with the abuse and personal attacks, my motives may have not been clear to you but that's not my problem. Why you keep posting I don't know either, even after I've asked you repetitive times to stop already. But clearly your word trumps vipers and maccers and anyone else whos opinions im looking for to reinforce my findings. The fact that maccer has stated exactly the same results as I have concluded so far proves what i'm trying to achieve. I'm sorry if you can't see that or your tunes don't show that but whatever.

Once again unless you got something positive to say and it be on the topic please continue trying to improve your own threads and leave mine alone with wasted posts. I'm surprised you don't see this and/or if you do i'm more surprised you tried to mislead people in you first post saying it makes no difference when you claim to help people. But please don't post again unless it's about the rims. Thanks.

Did you see my reply?

To be frank, it makes no difference, at least I think PD never bothered in making each rim different. Just the visual appearance. I hope that answers your question, and if not, I'll try to answer it.

What your missing is I told you it doesn't make a difference way before Maccer provided you picture proof. Not my fault your reading is t as good as your writing. In not abusing you stop being a girl. Read what in actually saying when in saying it. My posts weren't pointless at all your thread is pointless. You got your answer but you didn't wanna accept it cuz it was coming from me. Anyways hope your satisfied.

I tested mine on an AWD car with my personal best tune, with auto too. After countless runs I could never match the times of certain ones, then after putting the wheels that I originally had on it I ran my 0-60 0-100 and 1/4 time again within 3 runs. I'm still very unsure and I guess i'll have to run my own tests again to see my results, but the car I used hit 60 in 1st gear so I couldn't see anything else causing the issue. Those are very consistent times maccer, and I commend you for putting in the effort you have, I think it's amazing that they were all exactly the same even in such a restricted(and RWD) car. It could once again be a car by car situation. May I ask were you WOT launching?

EDIT: So i'm a girl now huh. I think i'm starting to pity you. You just can't stop throwing insults at me even though I'm just ignoring it. Shame.

Yes WOT from the black screen before track loads. Doing a timed launch (ideal RPM launch) could see different rims produce different results, but it will be so hard to tell if the difference comes from the rims or just slightly better launch, I know for sure when I first thought there may be difference between each rim I coudn't get the same results with the BBS's compared to the VOLK's Im gona do a few runs now in myDC2 and see if the same thing happends or if it was just an anomaly.

You really want to drag things off-topic again, please just post elsewhere you guys have had your say and slanging match.

You don't have to do this for my part, but if it puts your curiosity to rest aswell I once again commend you for taking the time to go into such detail.

Guys knock it off.

thanks

look he causes trouble but it doesnt mean all the rest of you arent exacerbating it.

can we please have a happy forums now?

no manly group hugs. just everyone calm their farms.

MNP - just chill a bit
everyone else - he's serious about it so he's passionate. sure he can come off with an attitude but im sure he doesnt always mean to

Viper i'm as chill as i'll ever be, I deal with rich snobby customers all the time so a couple of people on the other side of a computer screen on the other side of the world is nothing to me. Anyways, I can't believe stock to aftermarket made such a big difference though, but that brings me to another question, why model the stock rims to be so different but then not make the tiny adjustments necessary to differentiate the aftermarkets, I know for a fact in real life all the aftermarket rims in the game do not weigh the same. Seems a bit odd to me.

PD laziness? eg: standard cars

You should see what it takes to model just one car in this game to premium mate, it's not as simple as people think. Try a search on it, I remember discussions when the game came out about how long it took to produce just one car. There is so much more to this game then most people realise and it's all hiding underneath.

Yeah when your in photo mode you can see every single detail of the car, even a little sticker that can't be seen without zooming in is readable and in crisp HD. Really is amazing.

ok, ill try to simplify this.

stock vs aftermarket- depending on the car sometimes one is better than the

aftermarket vs aftermarket- both the same, makes no difference. if you think there is then test it on your own.

I still say with a team of developers 1 car does not take 6 months.

Well just finished testing on the DC2 '99 to see if that car showed any difference in time between rims like I thought it used too, but this time it didn't, I was able to get the same exact times with different rims in manual and auto.

All runs were full throttle on black screen before track loads.

BBS LM-R's AUTO time: 0-60 3.549, 0-100 7.635, 1/4mile 11.712
BBS LM-R's MANUAL Time: 0-60 3.497, 0-100 7.532, 1/4mile 11.653

VOLK TE37's AUTO time: 0-60 3.549, 0-100 7.635, 1/4mile 11.712
VOLK TE37's MANUAL time: 0-60 3.497, 0-100 7.532, 1/4mile 11.653

Can post the photos if needed.

Maybe it was just an anomaly before, or maybe something changed in patch 2.05/2.06 as it was on patch 2.04 when I first thought there may be a difference between each aftermarket rim. But for now, at least from my results it seems all aftermarket rims are capable of the same time.

Ok, I've been following this thread since the 1st post, and just done a little testing of my own, and the difference between aftermarket vs aftermarket is negligible.

Fact is that there is near no difference between them, it is impossible to tell if it is "human error" or the difference in wheels.

Adversely the is a difference between standard vs aftermarket.

Love the attitude mate, 'yeah we're here to help, but do it on your own'. God the old days are so far gone it's astounding the way that it is now, I guess this is the new generation brought about by mass online gaming on a console, god I really miss the good ol' days. But anyways, thanks for that Maccer, yeah it's quite possible that new update the other day might have done something(if that was even for GT5 or PS3, I can't remember). Good to know some people are as 'passionate' about finding these things out as I am and good to see some honest old school help, not much like this sort of help I see much of these days. Cheers. No need for anymore replies, this can be locked now I guess.
