Yep, I too think the prices are ridiculous. $100-$150 whatever is too much.

Right now there's no competition so of course Microsoft can ask for the moon.

I reckon as little as October would see normal disc pricings.

i dunno, they wanted $499 for the console itself!

lets not fret too much, i mean i paid $30 for the std. disc version of Forza 4 I think 3 weeks after it was released (hey man, I have a job and mortgage and a V8 to feed)

I dont think Forza 6 disc once it hits the stores will be that bad... they never are since car sims are fairly niche

Yeah, I must admit I'm a bit mingey when it comes to limited/special editions. My good lady is gradually dragging me (kicking and screaming) towards a more YOLO kind of outlook though :D
 
Is it possible to buy the Ultimate Edition from the U.S. store, or would I need an American account for that?

Not me; I'm cleaned out this month after buying a PC and will have to wait for July's paycheque before laying down my eighty-two quid.

I've bought too many standard editions and ended up paying the difference in additional DLC that I'm taking no chances with false economies this time around. Gotta spend a little to save a little in this case.

Speak for yourself, I think the Mikey exchequer can handle a debt of an extra thirty two pounds and still have enough left over to help prop up the rest of the country. :p

Enough of this negativity :lol:, as a student I am classing the ultimate edition as an investment to prevent any additional debt which may otherwise come about. At least I think it's better spent here than some of the ways I've seen people spend much larger amounts of money :odd:.

That's been my attitude for a while. Compared to other hobbies, video games are cheap, and the cost:hour ratio - thanks @HAL20XX - is pretty favourable. Looking at how much I still played FM4 as recently as last month, I'm more than okay with spending extra for a game I know will last.

So, Ultimate for me, though I'm holding off for now in case a physical copy shows up. But it's hard to argue with the early access...
 
I'll wait for a bit to pre-order (just in case of some nasty surprise coming up in the weeks leading to the game release in form of a lackuster car list or such) but I'm extremely likely to get the Ultimate. I ended up paying far too much for FM5 DLC without the Season Pass; and besides, as a painter, I could really use the 8-days headstart on the competition that comes with the early access bonus.

Are they actually on record as saying eight days? That's terrific news, I was afraid it'd only be a half a day or something LOL.

But I won't be paying for the early access... I'll actually be paying less for things that I'd be getting regardless (VIP, season pass), the early access is only an added bonus that's much appreciated. Consider it the thing that really sold the Ultimate edition to me.

And AFAIK you get to play the game 10/9 if you got the Ultimate. It will release 18/9 in Europe, so... Yeah, it's eight days.
 
Ultimate as well. The time I will be spending in FM6 makes it worth while, and plus I get the missing DLC's for FH2, which is a bonus.
 
I like to have the disc so I ended up pre-ordering the day one edition of F6 over the weekend. I think that is the deluxe edition? It would be nice to have all the other goodies, I just prefer having the disc.
 
I went for the Ultimate pack as the extra credits from VIP is useful, and I normally buy the Season Pass. I went digital, because I also got 3 DLC packs for Forza Horizon 2 which I'd only dowloaded the free cars for.
