Who also bought a PS3 for GT5?

I did.
I sweared i would never buy a ps3 (pc gaming since 2001) but when GT5 was released i got this urge to buy a ps3.
(i've been playing since GT1 release)

It feels like this is a series that i just cant miss...

Who else bought a PS3 for GT5?

i did, about 3 years ago.
picked up some very excellent games along the way, but had it not been for the promise of GT5, i would've just got a regular ol' blu-ray player.
 
I bought a ps3 last year for GT5 and sold it earlier this year since I had no idea when it was going to come out. Yesterday, I bought another one on Amazon for $298 with $100 amazon credit. The ps3 comes today, just need to find a copy, preferably used, of GT5
 
I bought mine about 6 months ago and GT5 was a very big part of my decision, along with Red Dead Redemption.
 
Yep. Launch 60gb. Only games I got for the ps3 is the GT5 Prologue, GT5 and MGS4. And I have since sold MGS4 once beating it.

I got my 250 gig Slim for GT5 last year. I was too broke and busy trying to pass school to get a launch console.

though thankfully its gotten me into plenty of other games along the way! (inculding mw2 where online i had a truly unhealthy ranking!)
 
So far GT5 has cost me about 4400nok (new 320gb+SE GT5). Thats about 730 usd.
It is the most expensive game I have bought so far in my gaming career.:scared:
 
I did. Bought a PS3 last month along with a DFGT and Xlerator wheel stand. GT5 is the only game I own, except I did download World of Outlaws Sprint Cars from PSN to hold me over for a week before GT5 came out. So GT5 has turned into an expensive purchase for me, but worth every penny I think.
 
My girlfried bought mine in China 2 weeks before launch, so I'm stuck with region locked dvds and bluerays, and no netflix (only avail on us and canadian sold ps3s apparently). I was hoping for another price cut before makign the pruchase myself, cause lets face it... 300+ dollars is still a lot for just one game! Luckily, I didnt have to drop a single dollar out of my wallet for it.
 
I did too. But i rarely play it. I use my 360 it's much better for playing with friends. I was hoping GT5 would get me to play it more. But sadly it has'nt maybe when they add the leaderboards it will motivate me to play it more.
 
I did, as well as my G27 and TV, since I was still on a SD tube until last month. The whole reason I've never played Prologue is because I wasn't going to buy a PS3 and TV for basically a demo, so finally last month I got a PS3 w/ HDMI cable and G27 ($450 total off Craigslist) and my HD projector. Happy with everything except GT5. :)
 
Bought a 60 Gig Fatty two and a Half Years ago played GT5P till the disc almost wore out

Bought GT5 14 seconds after its Midnight release

Following Day my 320GB Slim Turned up with the CE Bundle as I was worried about killing the Launch fatty , just aswell really as the Slim has been on 15 hours a Day since I got it and on solidly for the last 11 Days 24/7 as I level up the B-Spec Bobs

Then 3 weeks ago bought a DFGT

Game has cost me a Fortune :crazy:

Same here - bought it 3 years ago 4 years ago (Jan 2007) along with the HD Sony TV in preparation for GTHD. Sadly that PS3 died before GT5 was released :lol:
 
I bought my PS3 two years ago. But I did by a PSP when it first launched simply because GT4 mobile was announced. And uh.. a few years later it finally dropped. :ouch:

I kinda find it interesting that people are still buying PS3/360 machines, in my head it seems that whoever was going to buy one would have done so already long before now. I guess I underestimate the human race sometimes. :rolleyes:
 
yeah bought a ps3 in September for GT5, Pre-ordered GT5 as well and then waited, playing some games in between.

This month i bought a 40" TV and a Surround Sound system also for GT5... Yeah it was an expensive investment, but hey, every1 has their hobbies and priorities:dopey:
 
The promise of GT5 was enough for me to get a PS3. Blu-Ray and some other exclusive games were just icing on the cake until it came out. I'm mostly a PC gamer, BTW.
