Who also bought a PS3 for GT5?

I did, and a DFGT. I always said I wouldn't buy a PS3 until GT... And I'm glad as when they where new they were like $700...

The perk is that now I can go back and play all the PS3 exclusives and look forward to ico and Shadow of Collasis again :)

So the timing was pretty good...

GT was pretty much what I expected. All GT's have been more about the "next version" even before the current one is out so no real disappoint...
 
I did.

I also bought a HD 1080P TV, a DFGT wheel, and a wheelstandpro stand.

Like others i feel the game isnt what i had expected, but im still enjoying it regardless.

Its just a shame it has its issues, and the A Spec mode is fairly short compared to previous GT's, as it could of been the best in the series.

If its wasnt for the much better graphics id have no qualms in going back and playing the excellent GT4.

I will definetley do that once im done with GT5, as now i have a wheel, it should be an even better experience.

Aye - bought one solely for the purpose of playing GT5 {being under the delusion that it would be a wonderful leap into the future of simulation driving :donkey:}.
 
I did 4 years ago and It sat and collected dust until GT5P came out...

Then I also bought a G27 & chassis about 4 months ago...
 
Upgraded from PS2 to a PS3 this month just for the release of GT5. I don't even plan on buying any other games for it, just GT5. It is the only console racing game worth playing.

Also looking for a Logitech G27 when back in stock. Can't believe the people paying $350+ for used ones on eBay. Crazy.

Also thinking about getting an iRacing account for Miata's at Mid Ohio.
 
I got mine for GT4, about 2 months ago I guess. Had been holding out a while (got both my PS1 and PS2 "late" you could say) then managed to get it as a freebie with my new mobile phone contract :)

It's a slim but a 120Gb model so I think they had some old stock but that's ok, it was kinda free! I managed to get a bunch of great games from eBay for a total of about GBP50.00 - DIRT, GTAIV, Uncharted, Elder Scrolls 4, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm and Resistance

Out of those, played Resistance quite a lot, then player DIRT to death, then downloaded Ferrari: The Race Experience which I enjoyed a lot, then GT5 came through the letterbox and that's all i've played since :)

Also playing on a CRT TV, but have got a new LCD TV for Christmas, so looking forward to seeing GT5 as it's meant to be seen, plus all those games I haven't played yet :cheers:
 
Oh and if I hadn't got the PS3 for GT5 only, The Last Guardian would've been the dealbreaker :)
 
I bought my PS3 xmas 2008 in anticipation for GT5. Then it got delayed...

Only have one other game, and that was a present from a friend. PS3 and GT5.That's all I need.

Purchased my PS3 AND GT5 as a pack, November 25th.. :) :lol:
Will add more games later, just having too much fun atm....;)

I sweared i would never buy a ps3 (pc gaming since 2001) but when GT5 was released i got this urge to buy a ps3.
(i've been playing since GT1 release)

It feels like this is a series that i just cant miss...

I kind of did. I was considering it for a while and then GT5 just pushed me over. I bought it in June and must have about a month of time spent gaming.:lol:
I haven't gone near my Nintendo Wii since.
 
I'm the same as you. 2 months back when i hardly new what GT5 had to offer i wouldn't have even touched a PS3, i hated them. Now my 320GB is wrapped up under my tree along with GT5 just waiting for the 25th.
I'm so excited!
 
I did back in June in anticipation of GT5, I bought Prologue and Uncharted 2 with it and I haven't touched my 360 since, what a wonderful machine.
 
Drove to Gamestop in August with $650 in hand, and left with 8 games and a shiny new PS3, because my GT5 pre-order was counting down 👍
 
I got mine two weeks before gt5 was released. I got it just for gt5. I did buy cod modern warfare 2 at first. Haven't touched it since gt5 came out.
 
i bought the ps3 when it first came out, 2006 i think when it cost a bomb, about £500 (i think?). i still use it but with 300 gb hard drive. i had hoped GT5 would of came out back in 2006 like they told us......very long, long story.... and after 200 or so false dates it finally arrived.
 
Borrowed a friend's PS3 last week to play GT5. Needless to say I got hooked!

Ordered the G27 earlier this week. still hasn't shown up.. sigh!

Finally purchased my own PS3 160 GB *today* (on sale at Target)! Now I need to figure out how to transfer my level 12 license to the new machine...
 
Yep, bought a new slim just this year for GT5.

Got tired of Forza 3 and love GT3/4 too...so I bought one...my mom was like "what dah ****!?!?!?" when she saw me with one lol.
