Obvious answer from some Hamilton fans.

It's an obvious answer to agree with someone if you are a Hamilton fan?

So, if you don't support Hamilton, you don't agree with anyone.

I'm not sure what your comment was supposed to mean.

My point is that Hamilton fans seem to think he is immune to criticism. Hamilton likes to put other drivers in the position where they either hit him, or hit the wall/run off track. This is dangerous. He will continue to be a danger to both himself and others when he keeps putting other drivers in that position. He always blames the other person, is a bit arrogant (the fact that he thinks he needs a team of management says a lot about what he thinks of himself) and seems to think he's Senna. Which he isn't.

Is he a good driver? Yes. Is he exciting to watch? Undoubtedly. But he's also dangerous at times. And as for the whole "problems with Nicole affecting his on-track performances"... I don't buy that for a second. Fernando Alonso got divorced recently, but his marital problems did not affect his performance one bit. As a matter of fact, he had a stronger season than he did in 2010. Not results wise, but performance wise. No silly mistakes and always delivering 100%.

well you're free to think what you want. But I dont agree with you.

Actually I'm a hamilton fan and I can tell you that F1 Fan isn't wrong. He had many incidents from 2007 to now, probably the most in F1 in that time span actually. F1 fanatic did a article on it that you might want to check out. The whole blaming people thing is the only part I will agree with you upon but he has blamed McLaren more than anyone else I think. 2009-2011 especially 10 and 11 he's blamed and threatened McLaren to build a better car or they might see him at another team. I agree with you only because as a long time F1 fan for almost a couple decades now, he's not the only driver to do this.

I disagree, it clearly did affect Lewis and I think this is Lewis' biggest weakness - he seems to lose his head quite easily and become distracted. A totally human charateristic of course.
Comparing him with Alonso only highlights it further rather than disproves it. Alonso is mentally very strong and has always been about gathering a team towards his goals. I don't consider Lewis to have any of these characteristics.

Agree with your points, but somehow I can't see him playing second fiddle to Vettel nor can I see him partnering Alonso at Ferrari of all places.

That might be it, ot it might be that for the first time since he began his career he's not in the fight for the championship because of Vettels dominance, which leads sponsors and board members to put added pressure on his team. I dont think he's used to negative pressure yet on this level and doesnt know how to respond to critcism from the media. when he first got into F1 he was immediately quick and fought for the championship his first year which was amazing and he got all the positive out of F1, but when Vettel rose to power and Lewis' car was not up to snuf, he got critcized for his mistakes, which caused him to lash out at his team, other drivers (Massa), and the media. when you lash out publicly the media has a field day with you. He is learning self control in the face of adversity. He is still a very young man, and is learning how to act maturely in a sport that is unforgiving of character mistakes. His problems with Nicole could also be part of that, but i dont think they carry as much weight as his problems with the team/media/other drivers. He has still got some maturing to do to get the pendulum to swing back up for him. it will be interestiing to see if Vettel goes through the same thing when his dominance fades and he isnt the golden boy at Red Bull anymore like Lewis was at McLaren.

Alonso and Schumacher.

Alonso because he's probably the only good thing in Ferrari right now... He always do his best or even more sometimes, since we don't have a good car since... whatever.

Schumacher because... i've grown up watching him, and i really love his passion that he still have even in difficult times.
This year mercedes look like a good team that worked hard for a good car, i hope to see him win at least one race.

Kobayashi, if testing is anything to go by, seems like Sauber might have something on their hands this year. Hope it goes right for them and Kamui can give us some nice overtaking moves this year.

I'm a big fan of Vettel and Button, so either of them taking the title would make me extremely happy. I also hope that they really get to go at each other in Montreal because I'll get to see it at the track!

Hard choice, really. Choosing only from last year's drivers, I'd love Button to win, since he is very consistent, and a really nice chap. I wouldn't mind if Seb won another title, but only if the whole season is not too boring to watch.

Voted for Kimi though, as he is, in my opinion, the coolest driver in the whole F1 pack. I just hope that his Lotus' development will be as good as Red Bull's or McLaren's.

Alonso as almost for the last ten years (ps i'm not spanish), he's just the best of the pack and for the last years struggling with a non winning car.

And if not him wouldn't mind Raikkonen and Button grabbing a few wins.

Pretty much McLaren as a whole, but Lewis needs the support after the past 12 months of bad vibes he's had.

My Bottom-Half pick would be Paul Di Resta.

You mean the bad vibes that came off Massa's Ferrari? haha

I cant wait to see Schumi dust off Raikkonen. "oh your zee vun who took my spot at Ferrari and then got bored with it?"

As instructed by a mod, this thread is now supposed to cover TEAM preferences.

Therefore, TEAM preferences are not off topic here.

Now, and adding to the original drivers discussion and my driver-related post, I'll say, on the subject of TEAMS, this:

I like the underdogs with either attitude or passion. I liked the driven by passion italians from Minardi and Osella, never really with a chance, but there anyway.

I don't like Toro Rosso (with all due respect to former Minardi employees). I didn't like Kolles' team, still undecided on the "New HRT".

I like Sauber (Peter) and Sauber (Team). Don't like Force India. Like Caterham. Don't like the Genii F1 Team (but I do like their drivers).

I like Ferrari, I like McLaren since Ron Dennis stopped bossing around in the paddock, I like Williams, I don't like Red Bull, I'm indifferent to Mercedes (like Rosberg, like Haug, respect Brawn, respect Schumacher). I'm also indifferent to Marussia.

The team I will always have in my heart is Tyrrell.

After complying with Terronium's "dictum", I will also say that I don't understand why we can't have a TEAMS preference thread. But whatever ... it's not an Earth-shaking issue anyway.

I'm hoping for Webber to take out the WDC, although I think it's unlikely. In teams on the other hand, I absolutely despise Vettel and his finger as well as Marko, who obviously hates Webber. So i'd really like to see Alonso (not that he needs to lift), Massa and Ferrari improve and take out the WCC, but probably as likely as Nahrain winning in Bahrain :sly:

This will probably come as somewhat of a surprise to many but I will be rooting for Alonso.

Edit: I seriously dislike Ferrari though, always have. For some reason I've always had a soft spot for Renault.
