I know Ford owns Mercury, Lincon, Volvo, and Aston Martin. But I am not sure if Ford owns Saleen and Cosworth. Could someone answer this? Thanks!:)

Saleen is in a pretty tight relationship with Ford, but they arent owned by them. Ford supplies the NASCAR derrived 427ci V8s in the S7, and the Ford GT was built on the same line as the S7 as well.

...The same can be said for Rousch Racing, which also worked on the Ford GT project. Obviously Rousch is Ford's premiere NASCAR racing team, and Rousch is currently working on dealing in the Mustang GT trade with Europe (specifically the UK), and modifying the Mustang as well.

Carrol Shelby's company is also in a similar situation. They worked to co-develop the GT500 with SVT, and they are also working on a modern version of the GT350 by making a supercharged V6 version of the Mustang as well.

I'll say, being owned by a American car company... tis tis tis thats gotta suck.

Yeah, American car companies make foreign manufacturers do all of the work for them. :sly:

Hey, hey, hey! now, i think Mazda's doind a bit better now, being under Ford's wing! In fact, it's one of Ford's more profitable brands!

the Mazda6, in fact, underpins Ford's new Fusion and it's Lincoln and Mercury clones!

Well, Ford used to own Volvo, Range Rover, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and part of Mazda...now, however, they've sold Jaguar, Volvo, Aston Martin and Range Rover (which was sold back to BMW)....so now...They own pretty much themselves, Shelby and maybe part of Mazda as Lincoln and Mercury ARE Ford.

I went 66 pages back to find threads from 2006. This particular thread is (was) from page 75+. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

But anyway, Mercury is kaputt, Lincoln is wholly owned, Ford has an 11% stake in Mazda I believe, and Carroll Shelby simply licenses his name to Ford for their cars, and somewhat assists in development. Ford doesn't own Shelby at all.

'Cause I wanted to and the information was outdated.

And what makes you go around complaining about what I'm doing? You're not even a Forum Cop AKA: a mod.

Hmm, well can I complain about the fact that you've got your facts a bit mixed up?

They're called Land Rover (not Range Rover, that's one of their models), and were never 'sold back' to BMW - Ford unloaded them (along with Jaguar) on Tata.

And as it's been stated I don't think Shelby have anything to do with Ford in terms of ownership.

If you're just digging up threads because the information is outdated, then you've got alot of digging to do. I suggest you don't do it.

They don't. They even tossed around lawsuits at each other at one point, back when Shelby was in bed with Chrysler in the 80s but Ford continued to put Shelby names on Mustangs.

Yeah, now you're just bitching and nitpicking. If you have an issue with me, then take it up with one of the Mods.

Range Rovers ARE Land Rovers, and bitching about one wrong word is pathetic. Seriously, though, are you Ford fans or Chevy fans? 'Cause I could have sworn only Chevy fans bitch like 3 year olds.

Last time I check this thread had nothing to do with being a fan of Ford. 💡

And the person who posted the thread question last logged in in May and nobody asked for an update.

And I could have sworn only 12 year olds make such comments.

Well wasn't that a fun little outburst.

Uhhhm, well to be honest I'd rather 'take it up' with you. What with it being your post and all. And uh... you being the one that thought BMW currently owned Land Rover.

(We'll gloss over the Range Rover point as apparently that makes me a GM fanboy or something.)

*gets out his internet popcorn for an ensuing debate*

Oh wait, this popcorn is virtual. Damnit.

Seriously, that comment was uncalled for Shouden. I probably would've said the same thing, yet I'm more on Ford's side then Chevy's. And that right there isn't even related to the topic at hand. You really should've rethought that.

In closing...

Put down the shovel and step away from the trollbait. You're busted.

I wasn't trolling. Just because someone digs up an old post doesn't mean their trolling.

And Land Rover IS owned by BMW...again.
