Who is getting an Xbox One for Forza 6?

Xbox One purchase is beginning to feel imminent here. :scared:

I mean I'm sure forza will have the odd bug here or there, most games do but I haven't heard anything of some obscenely large day one patch to fix things that shouldn't be broken in a game that's just gone gold. So we can at least be semi confident that the game will be playable from day 0..

Indeed, most games have some initial issues nowadays. I surely hope early access, or day 0 as you call it, will be treated with the same amount of care and support as official release dates usually do (day 1 patches and such).

What we're getting on the 10th will be literally exactly what others will be getting on the 15th. Even then, title updates take care of most bugs, and those take atleast a month to get through. On top of that, T10 have a horrible track record of not releasing much title updates through there games. Although I have heard one time that they squeeze some in with the DLC packs.. How true that is, I have no idea.

It's definitely true but the truth is, there's never really been anything wrong that requires heavy patching like pcars.

There has always been the weird steering glitch with the pad, where the tires just don't want to turn. I get that at the karussell on FM5 almost every single time I encounter it. It happens throughout the track as well and most turns and seems to get alleviated by slowing down way more then necessary. It's been around since FM4 as well, I think. I think I've even encountered it in the demo as well. The fact stands, that they don't really get around to patching things.

You're right, however, that its not even close to the severity of pCars, but it's still a very, very annoying problem.

I thought that was more with the controller damping than a glitch but I don't know. It is definitely annoying though.

If anything we get to test the game for a few days before anyone else gets it. If we find anything, hopefully it will be resolved with another patch on the 15th. Think of it as we are beta testing the game a few days early to make it even better for everyone else.

As a paying customer, I don't want to think of myself as a beta tester. I want early access to exactly what other people get to experience a few days later, much like the ideal situation @ImaRobot suggested. Meanwhile, what you say basically sums up my concerns.

I really do hope for the best and it would be nice if this launched extremely well, but it is VERY VERY rare for a game ever to launch any more without day 1 problems.

I can honestly only think of maybe 1 game in the last 8 years or so that didn't need a patch. That was Thrillville Off The Rails. I never had a single problem ever with that game and I don't think it ever received a patch. Or at least not on the 360. EVERY other game I have purchased or rented, needed patches after the first day. That includes PS3, 360, and X1.

Lets just hope the F6 patches are at least very minor issues.

With GT6 being a huge let down with and unstable online and a lack of features that made GT5 so fun for me, if PD doesn't really step up their game for GT7 when that comes, I will be switching to Xbox and Forza. Never thought I would say that, but it might happen.

I went through the same, had been GT/PS fan from the start. One day with FM4 and Xbox Live and I was hooked. Really like everything about both and love both more on the Xbox one now. Plus P Cars is here as well, so plenty of options.

I went through the same thing too. Grew up with GT, gave Forza a try, eventually switched over. In fact I sold my PS3 along with GT5 and GT6 last October after hearing GT7 was going to have standards. The standards killed that series for me. If PD can pull themselves together and make GT7 truly amazing, then I will consider a PS4 and GT7. I have always been an open mided multi console gamer. I wish the best for Kaz, PD, and GT7. For now I will enjoy Forza 6 on the X1. 👍

Same here as well, I played GT games since '98. I bought an Xbox 360 a few years ago with Forza 3 and 4. I loved those games but I still believed in PD so when GT6 came out I sold my 360 and got my self a DFGT (again) but I soon realized it was a mistake... :ouch:
As soon as I saw the new 1TB Xbox One Forza bundle announced I packed up my PS3 along with the wheel and sold them. :D

A bit of shame that there was no option to choose the Ultimate Edition with that console (I would have happily paid and extra $50 bucks for it :grumpy: ) but, from what I've seen so far, I'm sure I'll enjoy FM6 more than any GT games before.

Less than 2 weeks to go

You could still get the Ultimate edition. Then just sell your version that comes with the X1 to someone else. It will be a code that someone would happily buy from you for sure.

I already own a PS4 and seeing Forza 6 made me want to buy an xbox one as well. Thought I'm not sure if I'm able to pay around $440 for 1TB Xbox One. The problem is that Xbox One is really an underrated console compared to PlayStation over here... It's so unpopular that some places didn't put one in the front of their store....

What's the problem with that though? Are you saying you're hesitant on buying it because people choose the PS4 over the Xbox One? It sounds like you're more worried about being seen as someone that owns an Xbox

After seeing all the coverage of those who already have the full game today, I could not resist any longer... Got an extremely cool deal however: XBOX ONE + Forza Horizon 2 + Witcher 3 + Metal Gear Solid 5 for 375 €.

Problems??

1.
"Thought I'm not sure if I'm able to pay around $440 for 1TB Xbox One."
I just spend $148 on a Game Capture and i wouldn't think that anyone would help me buying a $440 console...

2.
No...it's just more harder to find and the fact it would be harder to even play with locals online...so i might end up playing with players away from my region which means i will get huge LAG or maybe lost connections...

Also i'm much more worried about being seen as someone that owns a racing game (let it be arcade or simulator...)

I was more around the fact that you made it seem like you didn't want to get it because it was unpopular, making it seem like the reason for not getting it was more around being seen with an Xbox.

This makes more sense as a reason, and should have let that be known in the first place. I didn't take into consideration that you may be in a different country. Where are you located? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find online.

I.......currently live in the middle east...Bahrain to be exact (just Google it if anyone wonder what the hell is that...:p).
While you would still able to find an XBOX ONE easily or some players around the region who one's an xbox console, the fact that the XBOX ONE took around 10 months to release here officially (Sept 2014) and most gamers grown up with Playstation Consoles rather than other consoles in the market made the players mostly go for a PS4 rather than an XB1.

But at the end, there's still players who plays on xbox consoles, it's just much more players are owning PS4 instead so the problem isn't that bad...at least compared to the Wii U...

I think i'll take the plunge. Pcars gameplay/track list looks awesome, but the forza car list has me drooling. However found pcars is also good enough on Xbox, and never played the forza franchise so i'm going to take the plunge and buy my first xbox. Exciting.

How good is the AI on forza? Is it rubbish like GT, or do rivals actually give you a race?

Should check out some of insidesimracings vids where they race the Ai on unbeatable. They get humbled. I personally think the Ai are great, it's definitely a more frantic and challenging game and Ai system than the drones of gran turismo.

If you aren't aware, forza uses drivatar tech so the fields of Ai are generated from racers on your friend list and random others who's driving style and data get translated into an Ai form. So they feel more human like to race against. Which in forza 5 had its pitfalls like they could cut corners, block you, ram you etc. It was bearable but fun though occasionally annoying. Forza 6 has a professionalism setting where you can tell the game to intervene with ramming and blocking so they still drive human like but will ram less.

Wow that sounds great, so if you've got a friend list of good serious racers that would be awesome! Thanks :)

Do you know how exactly this relates to your individual reputation score under xbox live? I'm slightly concerned about doing any multiplayer racing in FM6, at least until I'm smoother like I am in GT6, because I know you can be red-flagged for accidentally crashing into other players.

I placed my order for the Forza 6 XB1 1TB bundle this week.
I played FM 2,3,4 but had not picked up an XB1 as of yet and no FM5
I also played GT 4,5,6 and several PC based racers.

Like some here, I'll be getting both F6 and XBONE next week. The different racing series and plus the M1, Capri and CSL were the deciding factors.

It won't affect your Gamertag reputation in any way unless someone just gets so frustrated, that they purposely look up your GT & give it a bad review based on how an A.I. drove that only tries to mimic how you might drive.

Actual online racing will have more of an effect on your GT rep. than the Drivatars ever will, as I believe folks will be able to directly pull up your account in detail.

So I have purchased an Xbox One. Since I'm totally new to this platform, I have one question.

I plan to set up a personal profile and buy Ultimate Editions of Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 2. However, I have a nephew who likes to play GT6 and I know he'd like to try these new-generation racing games. Can I set up an another user on the Xbox One which has access to digital game purchases made through my account and primary user? I don't want other people to interfere with my achievements, leaderboard rankings, and general progress. I have sometimes used this method on the PS3.

I'm not at home so can't give a step-by-step, but it's definitely possible. Once you've created your account, pop up to the user icon on the top right and hit A. You can change user accounts there, and should be able to create ones as well. Digital purchases can be shared between them.

Welcome to the fold

Count me in, though I probably wouldn't take the plunge if my brother wasn't selling his Xbox One directly to me. I used to have a love/hate relationship with Forza. Bought them all (except 5 of course) and enjoyed 4 the most but ultimately my issue with the franchise has always been lack of significant differences from installment to installment, and T10 dragging their feet when it comes to desired features like dynamic time and weather. That said, FM4 had the best car roster I've ever seen and the level of customization is unparalleled. I'm hoping that skipping 5 and getting 6 on a new-gen console will make the series feel fresh to me again.
