Time trial wise, Ti-tech85, Takeuchi01, |1a2r3... race pace, no way to tell.

Of course it always depends on the combo and how much time they spend on it.
But there are some guys who are on top in every event they participate.
Timo already named some of them.
Arnaud Lacombe (Ti-Tech85) and his brother Thibault (outburner976) showed in the last Academys how fast they are in TT-Events. I think they are even a bit faster than Lars Schlömer (1a2r3). I´ve raced all 3 of them in Onlineraces and theres almost no chance to stay their pace even with slipstream.
I can´t say much about Takeushi01 but his times are always on top of the leaderboard.
Somebody who must be mentioned in this list also is Dan Holland. He´s not only fast in realistic combos. He´s a good allrounder and can set incredible times in Rally-Events, the X2010 and also with skid recovery.

You forgot to add yourself.:sly:

I really can't even imagine someone faster than Div1 gold guys...that must be crazy.

Lol it's me of course. I've raced and beaten the stig in countless private matches :)

Haha, thx!

But like i said before i raced against those guys, on Onlineraces, Liveraces at Events, Live TT-Races and on Online TTs.
I wasn´t able to lose less than 0,5-1 sec a lap.

It´s still something over the Div1 Gold maybe you call it Div1 Platinum. :sly:
There are 5-10 drivers on the world i would put into this because they drive in their own league.

So can you make this list, Div1 Platinum from your personal experience?
I'd be grateful. 👍

Ti-Tech85!!!

👍
Btw - is it true that he drives without ABS? :nervous:

No I believe he doesn't have one (at least 1,5 years ago didnt have).

I don't think there is any way to judge that. So many people play GT5 It would be impossible to say one person is the best GT5 player. .

True in my whole time of playing GT5 round about 3 weeks im lvl 32 on a spec and 22 on b spec, i think this is a good achievement for me as on GT3 i failed, but i think its to hard to estimate the fastest :) be cool if they added like leaderboards to the community so you can view ppls fastest times!

As for pad users I'll have to add two names - Tidgney and DeMise-Bennet.

Aww cheers, I only just came across this thread lol :). Not sure whether I'd be as fast on a pad anymore but next GT Academy (If there is one) I'm hoping to beat edd as I should be upto speed on the wheel :).

DeMiSe is one hell of a quick driver to but dont tell him i said that about him. Mustn't encourage the welshman now :).

Only from personal preference the quickest I would say would be Ti-Tech, Edd and Dan Holland.

I've been said to be very quick, but no matter how good people say you are, there is always someone better.

I know how many of you will take issue and rant and rave at what I am about to say...but I'll say it all the same. I'm not a fan of sweeping statements or generalisations but everytime I see the TT top 10 rankings ( and many more in the following 100) its dominated by the Japanese. Question answered. The Japanese are still the worlds best gamers pretty much.

There is no way to tell. Even though someone has good times on time trials, they may not do as well in a race setting. The fastest GT5 player may not even play online. And as it was previously said, a fraction of one percent of the GT5 players worldwide are members of GTP. I will say that there are many quick drivers on here who have tremendous skills, but to crown someone the fastest is pretty much impossible.

So if you don't race online (I gather by this you mean in the lounge etc) other than TT, you're a poor driver? Perhaps one reason why 1% of GT5 players aren't registered on GTP is they don't want the hassle of a second PSN ID and starting again from scratch. Another is the difference in interest and age ranges, like any game fans differ in there geekdom. I have a GTP account on my PS3 but don't use it as I'm at 37 A-spec and 31 B-spec respectively, it would be time intensive to say the least to get to the same level on my GTP account.

The simple truth is no matter how good any one individual is (even a world champion for example), there is always someone far better out there. That they are not known by name is irrelevant.

Greger plays GT5?

I have no idea, it was more towards the suggestion that the same guys are the fastest in all the sims. Greger is arguably the fastest allround sim racer in the world.

Lets not forget the GT Academy finalists, many of which are iRacing members. Those guys also came from Rfactor, LFS, GTR2 and even Forza 3. Many of the same guys were also the fastest in the Ferrari Virtual Academy competition.

Mmmmmm.... you know you said you never said anything about iRacing? Well dammit to buggery you just did! Not to be too pedantic about it (honest guv) but what do Forza, LFS or GTR2 have to do with GT5?

You seem to missing the point here its a game and reserved for players not pros, most people I know play games for fun and a bit of competition amongst friends not too a fanatical or obsessive degree where you have to be the best. The real world doesn't work like that and so it's logical that the virtual one doesn't either as it's governed by many of the laws of physics etc that exist in the real world.

GT Academy finalists shouldn't really count - you can think of them as semi-pro or prodrivers now - not armchair slackers, like the majority. Many of them have International racing contracts and Licences.

I mean plenty/no offense to those with/without more/less fulfilling professions (delete where applicable).

I hadn't up until that point, did you notice I also mentioned a load of other sims? The thread is "who is the fastest GT5-er out there"

Not, "Who is the fastest, non semi pro, normal human with a normal job GT5-er". As I said, the fastest GT5'ers happen to also be the fastest in many other sims. The fastest are certaintly among the GT Academy finalists, among those finalists are some of the fastest sim racers in general.

If you want to just go by ingame names, EDDSKILL has been ranking top or near the top in GT leaderboards for years. But the fastest drivers do not necessarily hotlap in the leaderboards. Greger Huttu has dominated in every sim since GP Legends, he is like the Michael Schumacher of sim racing. I'm not sure if Greger plays GT5, I am sure he is one of the fastest though.

I'm pretty quick depending on the settings and car, considering that i only have a DS3.
Although i highly doubt i'm within the top 900k. i DID however temporarily place somewhere in the top 1000 of the 750pp cape ring time trial when it was available
