No, get 3/4 of the hp, and multiply by a third...:p That's pretty simple, and it's still closter than your method...:p
 
Or, you know, since you're probably going to be on a computer while you're viewing these numbers you could always click "Start>Programs>Accessories>Calculator". I personally find it easier to type in numbers than actually think.

Yeah, but that would only be good up to 10Kw... Anything bigger then a Fiat and you'd need more then 10 fingers.
