I have an office chair that I use for my computer and my ps2, they're fairly close together in my room. So it's office chair and DS2 for me! Although I found this awesome Ford Racing Team (Australia) office chair.. it's shaped like a bucket seat but with a bit more padding... and man is it comfy! I sat on it in the shop and practically fell asleep.. I don't know whether that would be much good for my GT3 abilities though, I wouldn't be able to concentrate on where I was going.

Those seats are really cool, but I have a question.

Has a manufacturer like MOMO or Sparco ever linked up with a hardwear company and made a 'proper' video game steering wheel/seat set-up?

I had this idea a while ago after buying a wheel for my PSX and finding it plasticy and err crap, obviously such a set-up wouldnt come cheap but these days I think there are lots of people who would shell out the extra cash for something like this. This thread proves that.

rather expensive, but all in all, very cool.

Burnin Rubba and all the rest of you GT lovers:

I'm working on your problem. I am trying to bring to market a driving cockpit for us with limited budgets. It is called the Monoposto TM. I want to try to offer it at a retail price under $200 with seat, maybe under $150 without seat. Less if the manufacturing volume allows.

The Monoposto TM features a comfortable F1 style driving position. The seat is adjustable fore and aft. The steering wheel panel is angled down to place the wheel in a more natural position.

The Monoposto TM is designed for the new GT PS2 wheel but will accomodate others. The foot pedals mount at an angle and there's a heel rest to prop up your feet for the best position to control the pedals. This heel panel also provides a place fo stash your Playstation.

The Monoposto TM structure is stiff and will not flex under hard use, yet it is lightweight. It can be stored vertical to save space when not in use. The seat is easily removable for transport.

I'm not offering Monoposto's TM for sale at this time (but look for them on ebay soon). I'm trying to determine market viability and a retail price first. But you can help me out. Tell me what you think and how much would you pay.

I've attached a couple photos.

Looks good. I like the nice simple design. What kind of seat is that you used? It looks a funny shape.

What are the chances of making it collapsible so it will fit in a cupboard?

There is also a long long thread on this topic on the GT4 board, called "Cheap cockpits" or something similar.

Burnin,

Thanks. The seat is one that is commonly used for sandrails and the like. Its comfortable enough to sit in for a couple hours and a cover is available for it as well if you like to do 24 hour enduros.

Duke,

Thanks. Actually, I was looking for that thread to present the Monoposto TM in. I try again.

Nice setup. Will the seat be able to slide back for those of us who are over six feet tall?

Need any beta testers?

Hi Durnin Rubba

only the armrest and cockpit is in MDF otherwise the self-adhesive velour dont gluing right on the cutting edges.

The cockpit-curve is 4mm hardboard with self-adhesive velour

All other is simple 22mm raw flake board colored with Stone- Effect Spray.
Stone- Effect Spray is verry easy to use ( without big preparatory work ) :D

The Seat and the Pedals are from a Car.

If You want to realize a mirrorfinish - Color, it is better to use MDF !!!
