Where did you read that as the EU forum still has it listed.
Normaly super fast zombies post would be edited if it was canceled.
 
The Playstation Twitter account said it was postponed.
 
Damn B-Spec. Why does my idiot B-Spec Bob get more laps than I get in A-Spec? Why doesn't PD just let us run these same races anyway? Bahhh...
 
Hopefully PD is just cranking out these cookie cutter seasonals because they're actually at work on some -big- patch or DLC.

Anytime a pattern emerges, it starts to be tedious. I long for the very first set of A - Spec challenges. They had restrictions and were difficult to get the gold. Paid out a fixed amount and when you got your gold, you were finished. In my opinion, those were the best seasonals.

I like the TT and DT, tired of the same A - Spec, and hate the B - Spec (400,500,650). I was ok with the B - Spec on Spa and Sarthe. Only thing is, why can't they give us those races on A - Spec? That would be VERY nice! 👍 The 3 and 5 lap, no tire wear/fuel usage for A - Spec needs to go away... far away.

The 3 and 5 lap races are for the regular joe. If they made races like I see most people on gtp want (longer and more difficult) I don't believe the regular joe would want anything to do with it. Joe would get aggravated after not winning easily the first try. Must appeal to the masses in order to succeed.

I tend to look at the typical opponents for the a spec races and get a like car and detune it to make it a challenge. It's the best way I found to make it enjoyable. If you want longer and more difficult races, try joining a series online.

Although, I think expert a spec seasonals would be great.
 
I wonder if the "event creator" is being saved for the "GT4 Track Pack" featuring all of GT4's tracks. 👍

It's cool to wonder but that's all you can do. I wonder what the next dlc is but there's no use discussing it. It'll most likely fall short for what most desire but I'm happy with anything. If there's dlc, I'll buy it. I think of it as investing towards GT6. Not trying to sound like a dik either...

That's not my biggest gripe however, my main problem with the seasonal events is that you can only win the *main prize* once, IMO you should be allowed to win it as many times as you like. In GT4 you could clear your trophies in a tournament and win the prizes again, don't see why GT5 can't be the same. :nervous:
 
Agree. Since they took nearly all the seasonals offline a few months ago, and have been very lax in putting new interesting A-spec races in place, i have been disinterested in the seasonals. Its a big shame. And very frustrating that they can play "God" like this. It's almost like there is some sadistic decision maker toying with us at Polyphony.

A-spec please!! And switch it up and mod the AI cars or just lower the PP and start in a NORMAL grid format!! Please PD!!

You don't need to think about it to realise that.

Why anybody has ever put more than 15 minutes into b-spec mode I will never know.

It's a complete farce. Simply there to reuse the limited number of a-spec events to con people into thinking the game has a greater lifespan than it really does. As a concept it isn't that flawed: Team management, driver tuition, a team mate to race with. It could be good, but p.d's implementation is so lack lustre. There is literally nothing entertaining or rewarding about the remote controls for your driver. And what's worse is that the crappy b-spec system is probably more than a little responsible for the even more crappy and slow a.i in GT5!!

And yet some people just ate it up.

And now we get more b-spec seasonal events for people to watch happen.

I now think Kaz is purposely wrecking GT5, and GT as a franchise.

Why? Because he doesn't give a rat's ass about what his paying customers want out of GT5. He'd rather waste his employee's time on usless garbage that no one cares about.

Why did I spend over $450 on a racing seat rig for my G25 just before GT5 came out? A-Spec career mode can be completed in weeks, or days it's so short besides the longest endurance races.

Online multiplayer is only so fun because of all the bugs.. and there's much better games on PC for that kind of racing. What has always made the GT series stand out is the huge and challenging (or at least interesting) single player career mode and the huge garage full of cars to USE in those races.

Between giving half of the single player career mode up to the ridiculous B-Spec, treating B-Spec as if it's equal to the importance of A-Spec, and not giving A-Spec the time and focus it deserves, Kaz is single handedly wrecking what is (WAS) great and unique about Gran Turismo.

Why is Kaz trying to ruin Gran Turismo? Seriously, I'd like to know why Kaz hates GT and his customers so much that he's willing to run GT into the ground and make it some bastardized self-playing joke.

I didn't buy a racing rig and G25 to watch GT5 play with itself! It's disgusting.

Another boring B-spec, great.

I just want the old Seasonal style back. Stars and Strips is cool, so is Euro Hatchbacks, but this bull crap 400pp-500-650 is getting very old very fast. To top it off, B-spec has not value to me especially in this format. I will complete them for the ticket but dang, I am really dissappointed.
 
I'm going to quit playing the B-Spec seasonals, even if I want the $$ and prizes.

I think we should boycott B-Spec and send a message to Kaz/PD.

You know PD track your every move in GT5.. well if everyone does the B-Spec, seasonals for the $$, then that gets Kaz's backwards thinking the idea people like them and want MORE B-Spec. If you think B-Spec sucks, don't play those seasonals.

BS-Spec is what they are anyway.
 
It's weird isn't it? So many possibilities in this game, and they hardly use them. I'm sure everyone in this thread alone could come up with at least 3 great ideas for new seasonals from the top of his head, yet PD somehow can't manage to do that for whatever reason.
 
Seasonals are so meh, now that I've bought an xBox & Forza. Should keep me busy until 6 comes out.
 
I would be seriously happy if PD/KY can answer why they decided to incorporate B-Spec; was it because they thought it was original? Was it because they thought a non-driving mode in a "driving simulator" was a good idea?

PD, are you hearing this? You're gonna lose more & more customers. The current format for seasonals is pathetic. Please give us something decent.
 
For me the game is at the tipping point now. I mean, people are inventing ways to collect things - like having 0/0/0 vehicles in every colour of that manufacturer. Why? Cos there isn't much else left to do.

I didn't buy GT5 to collect cars I'm not going to drive, I bought it to race. B-Spec ain't too bad but since I reached L40 and stopped grinding Sarthe in an X2010, my electric bill is much reduced!!!:lol:

Even the login bonus isn't enough to keep me coming back on a daily basis.
Only photomode pulls me back (and that's not racing either)- and thats only thanks to the guys in the photomode forum and the quality of the edits. 👍

Real driving simulator?

Seasonals are basically the only races I am doing these days because it seems like such a waste to do the other A-spec and B spec races for so few Credits and XP. The old seasonals that went away with the update were better because there was a bit mre variety, but I still felt like they were just rehashing A-spec races from previous game versions. I long for some new and original ideas.

I would personally like to see:

1. Some longer races (but not full endurance races) where tire wear and pits stops are needed.
2. Maybe some one-makes races that we haven't seen before.
3. A series of races at different PP levels on some different tracks. Seems like we have 400, 500, and 650 and the tracks are all the same.
4. More of the challenge races.
5. Some rally races.
 
It seems PD is only looking for their market target (Japan). The seasonals there are way more challenging.

A recent one was a lap arround the new RouteX (A-spec) using untuned Tesla roadster.

The only way to win it was using slipstream...

GT5 is being left behind has a marketing strategy for GT6...
