Whose Been Your Favourite Driver This Season?

  • Total voters
    45
A poll would be nice ;) Edit: Nevermind :D

I'd say my favourite driver to watch this season has been Vettel, consistently getting that STR3 to places a Minardi would have never been, beating everyone except Ferrari and McLaren consistently and of course the historic win at Monza to top it off.

2nd fave would be Alonso for the great comeback at the end of the season and providing a few laughs each race as he aggressively battled in Germany, losing places all over the place, but providing some great racing to watch.

I thought I put the settings to only allow one vote per person... :dunce:

Edit: I did. :dunce: :dunce:

Maybe not the popular vote around these parts but I'm 100% behind Hamilton. He went toe to to with Alonso last year, in the same kit, and royally kicked his ass, narrowly missing the drivers crown in his rookie season. I've heard all the excuses but, in my mind they do very little to strip the gloss.

He's made some mistakes but there's no driver, past or present who hasn't, including the legendary Senna. Hamilton now has two F1 seasons under his belt and could step onto the podium on sunday the youngest champ ever.

He's focussed, aggressive and shows moments of pure genius, especially in the wet, reminiscent of Schumacher who, up until he retired from racing, was my other favourite driver. And hamilton is still a noob! I can't wait to see his career develop over the next couple of years because, in my opinion, he's shaping up to be one of the greatest drivers that ever lived.

Okay it's still early days but winning the championship in his second year will be a major step in the right direction.

Go Lewis!

kubica has been the favorite for me so far this year. hes been the only driver to consistently show up ferrari and mclaren. hes season has been the best anyone outside of the ferrari and mclaren teams anyone could hope for. shame he isnt still a WDC competitor.

How did he royally kick Alonso's ass if he tied him in points?

My favorite this year has been Vettel.

My favorite driver is Hamilton, but throughout the season I've rooted for Sebastien Bourdais. Been longing for a driver to make a smooth transition from American open wheel to F1. Yes, he's French, and yes, his rookie season isn't exactly an argument for the legitimacy of the American series. But that's good enough :).

Besides, we need more "Sebastian"s in F1...

Oops! Sorry!

Don't worry about it, I'll probably use thsi thread now to come up with the nominees. ;)

Dont make Bee go kung foo on you. You will be sorry for stealing his thunder and his questions..

Yup, I bring thy pain..

As for the question, Piquet Jr has been pretty entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

My heart is with Hamilton... but I had to put in a vote for Vettel... if for no other reason than him driving the balls off his car and giving us a good show in the past few races.

Still... Hamilton's drives in the rain (qualifying at the end of last season, Silverstone this season) rate as some of the best F1 drives in the past few years.

Vettel, *big surprise
He showed it doesn't matter what car you're driving, and Bourdais has done well toward the end of the season aswell.

Voted for Taku-san. Are you guys surprised? :sly:
(well aparently not, since someone voted for Anthony Davidson. :banghead:)

Had Super Aguri not folded, Davidson would have been involved in a 3-way battle for the title at this stage in the season. Mark my words!

Heh, who knows. Even Taku could be fighting with Alonso for 6th place in the WDC. ;)

His brother perhaps ;)
👍 Maybe you should ask him to visit this thread and vote for his brother......
