Whose fault is it?

The word is moot not mute...virtual world, fair races not gonna' happen, too many factors involved (knuckle-heads, connectivity, lag).

Funny you would say that... last night I had a room going at 600PP and with a cluster of high speed cars going I would say easily 8-10 were stuck in a pack going 3 and 4 wide into turns at HSR and Grand Valley all within a half a second of each other... and no accidents were had as a result of this close racing and the suffles during in the pack were quite impressive.

I agree it's a pretty rare occasion but it's far from impossible and even if it were, there is no resaon to not try to come as close as you can.

I get your point, but fair races do happen plenty, no thanks to people like you.

If a fair player makes a big mistake and smashes me off the track and says sorry, I don't mind. If another player cleverly nudges me onto the grass when I'm teetering on the edge of the track, he's ruining my corner/lap/race for his own gain.

I love braking in straights when the other guy is drafting, especially in one make races in de la Sarthe & SS7, let him get collision penalty! And when he gets used to it I use fake braking..just to back him off a couple of feet.

But actually..I've only messed around online on those tracks for like 2 or 3 times. In Nurburgring I don't dare doing such things...

I hate people who brakes for no reason in the straights. It's just damn stupid.

Either you let them pass, otherwise, continue to drive like you usually do.

It's the dupers/cheaters fault. Oh, wait, we're not talking about that for once. :P
I'd say it is the guy behind you's fault for not slowing down.
Yesterday, a guy made it his business to bump me (and I wasn't even trying to block/brake in a straight, it was actually a turn) on Daytona and cost me the race. What an idiot. So, the next race, I returned the favor ;)

I'm sure that made everything better. Or perhaps everyone in the race now knows you're a bumper too. "He started it" is rarely, if ever, a valid reason.

VBR
"Blocking-weaving down the straght with your eyes on the mirrors, trying to cut off the driver behind-qualifies you as a lower form of life. Like any other sport, racing requires sportsmanship

I agree. It's very un-sportsman-like. If someone is faster than you then he deserves to win. Blocking is cheap and causes accidents.

I know, but boy, was it really funny when he started swearing at me on the mic. He never bothered to say "sorry" in the beginning too, he just said "get out my way"
Lol fun day.

It depends how far alongside you he was. If he was entirely behind your car as others have said you can move across the track once to block him, after that you have to stick to your line. If the person was already partially alongside you and you forced him onto the grass, that is your fault and not allowed in racing. You have to give him racing room.

This 👍

Why would you think that? Why should someone have to slow down on a straight because the person in front is blocking? Nobody should ever be braking or slowing on a straight, if you are someone is doing something wrong.

On a straight, I'd agree, if someone brake checks on a straight they'd be flagged for unsafe driving. If you rear end someone in/near the braking zone though it's definitely your fault though.

I was racing in a Le Mans room where this guy would constantly do that, slam on the brakes WELL before the turn (sometimes in the beginning/middle of a straight) as I'm inches from hims bumper causing a penalty to be inflicted on me. He did it Twice to me as i was trying to pass. Overall a very dirty driver, but was able to get around him finally.

Also wtf is a ramming penalty, I got one from someone being to brave (dumb) and braking way late into a corner and bouncing off me as I was turning into a corner. How is that my mistake/error?

The point is he starts moving to the right before there even is someone to intimidate...

I think he was well aware that Rubens was committed and that he was much faster than Schumacher.

I also just noticed that I actually wrote "wrecklessly" which is a bit funny (and true since there was no wreck in the end)
