does anyone know why there is no variation on this on this there was on gt5 but not in gt6

Added challenge i guess and a lack of effort from PD.

Interestingly i got as far as the race menu (where you can set driver options, car settings and obviously start the race) and left it there whilst i went to get a snack. After coming back about 15 minutes later i noticed the percentage of surface water had decreased from 60 (i think) to 0. "Great, a dry start" i said as i started the race, only for the weather to suddenly turn dark and very, very wet again, returning the surface water to 60%.
So delaying the start will allow the weather to change but starting the race resets it to what it was when you first got to that menu in the first place.

that its dull i think they did it in gt5 so why not in 6 its not that its a challenge to me its that they just couldent be bothered

I believe they did indeed. There seems to be some ball dropping at PD (i could probably word that better but i don't care), lots of things that come across as a lack of effort.

Another reason may be it always rains at the start in an attempt to make everybody's race the same in regards to the weather. Otherwise there might be a chance that someone would experience an entirely dry/wet race whereas others may have the opposite.

yeah but in real racing tho its all diffrent like in gt5

True. But remember PD moves in mysterious ways.

i think it is a plot to suck all the AI into switching to intermediate rain tires. I just stick with Race Soft, and pit as usual, when required. R-3's seem to to stick just fine (normal traction) up to about 50% H2O and are good right up to 80%. Then I drop a couple of gears, lug it out of the corners/chicanes, and meanwhile the AI are busy switching back and forth?? BTW, the R-3's barely wear at all in any kind of wet conditions, and this puts you far ahead of the AI!

Perhaps "Artificial Intelligence" may be an oxymoron, I haven't noticed much intelligence anywhere??

thanx for the info on tire selection and performance of the tires...gonna try that strategy tomoro

It is obvious why: PD stated, they want to give the players the "whole" experiance of endurance races.....so they just put everything they got in those 24 minutes.
