At the risk of upsetting everyone including the mods.. But can anyone tell me why we are waiting for seasonal events 7, 8 & 9 etc??? It's currently 10:47 PM GMT Thursday and nothing. Polyphony claim update at 04:00 hours Thursday GMT. Am I missing something here?

People are claiming that they made a typo and the +- 1 day starts at 10pm est.(instead of AM) Which would mean they would not be late for another 4 hours or so.

How do we know PD is late? And what I want to know. How do we get info directly from PD about all aspects of GT5? Do we just have a massive online community that sits on there hands until there spoon fed?

we don't know for sure that they're late. and we will NEVER get info from PD directly.

I don't think there really is. It is pretty shocking how little information they release.

The other games that I play (iracing,wow) the developers regularly post on there forums and answer questions about the community.
 
All I can say Is sit back relax and wait. Thats all you can do really for now until It shows later.

Their communication has been atrocious. Most times we would be less confused if they didn't release news bulletins. So many bulletins contradict previous information or have errors that we really don't know what they are doing.

Patience people, damn. They could be adding something extra that is taking more time, or found a glitch/bug that needs to be fixed before release. I'm sure there's a good explanation. Just do something else in the mean time. Not like your life depends on these event updates. :ouch:

Strange? How difficult would it be for Polyphony (Sorry! Sony) to have a news section with update details etc. As it is we have to rely on the excellent work that GT Planet does. Where would we be without GT Planet? Lost I'm guessing. LOL

they could also be doing nothing.

They need to learn how to communicate with there community. Not hard for them to have a facebook / twitter account(at the very least) and make a post telling us whats going on.

It's not Sony's fault, it's Polyphony's and ours. If you look at all the interviews conducted with Yamauchi-san they never ask relevant questions. They ask him how many cars he has or which one's his favorite, etc.

I wish someone had an interview with him and asked him why is the community involvement so bad? Why can't he get a better translation team? Why can't they tell us straight up what they're working on?

I feel bad for software companies sometimes. The seasonals run like clockwork until they announce how they are going to run. Soon as they do that we have this delay. Then again I am not as high stress as some are, it will come when it comes and I will play it then, stressing over it is just way too much work if you ask me.

I agree with others though that I expect the delay is likely related to software update since we know they were targeting early February for an update based on the information passed along when they announced the B-spec everywhere concept.

So it would seem to make sense that the 2 could be related. And if that is the case I would expect that actually pushing a large software update out to 5 million units can be a challenge and probably has to be planned really well to avoid swamping servers.

I'm high stress because there's nothing left for me to do in GT....I'm sitting here with a nice Escudo in the UCD but I'm short 600k. If I grind it'll be gone...so those Seasonals are my savior.

It's not the high stress it's just the design shortcomings (UCD, crappy payoffs) are making these Seasonal Events the only way to get money to buy new cars

Don't care about waiting for Seasonals.

You would really think they would be all over this type of thing. Every forum on GTPlanet has multiple threads that end in questions that could only be answered by PD. The demand is to high for them not to take advantage of this. Especially after hearing the makers say: "We're just getting started". Implying more GT5, whatever it be, gameplay or DLC.

In the end you'll get the update, so how does it make a difference? Whether you take an hour and do it in the morning or the next day afternoon, you're still only taking that hour out of your life and still getting that money. Do whatever you'd be doing if the update already came and you got your money and cars.
Some of you people seriously sound like addicts or like you have nothing else in your lives.

Please read the AUP, again, learn how to formulate sentences, and use proper wording. It's hard replying to someone who's exhibiting a lack of intelligence.
As I said before, new updated come out when old ones end or 24hrs before/after. That means they have til 9pm CST, TONIGHT.
