Why can't I modify each gear with fully customizable transmission?

Anyway I love tuning the gear ratios, but I have yet to come accross a transmission that needed individual adjustments. But its usually only the american cars that have insanely tall gear ratios that need changing.

that said I would love to see this feature.

they release a game and its not finished - but they will finish it latter with updates after almost everyone has already played 50% of the game by now and there is no reason to go back and play them again

this game is ruined for me for about 5 years, maybe then if I can change the gear ratios I will go back and play some races again - but now I will never play the same race again unless I need the money, so all the races that I will have trouble with without an adjustable gear ratios then they will be over and done with

this is lame as hell, I cant believe that this was released like this and it deserves a 8 out of 10 for the whole game, but a 5 out of 10 for not being a complete game

you people are crazy if PD came out with human $hit you would eat it up and say "yea there isnt corn in this poop as they promised, but its still good poop"

This is a fine example of how the VG industry does with the online capability of our consoles. We don't get a complete game off the shelf and then we get updates as they become available. PD has used this feature, EA and even other video game studios have used this.

I have prologue and went to play that and that game is way cleaner - the menus load fast and the cars load up fast when you look at them

yea its missing really big things like mods to the car and stuff like that but all in all its a better more complete game in the sense that its not missing things that are said to be there and it plays better

I hate you PD, you wasted my money with this and I cant believe you arent getting threats because this is a rip off for sure - all they had to do was charge people $20-30 and "unlock" the Prologue to have more cars and stuff like that and it would have been a better game then this crap

2. Being original basically means your playing "that car" not "your car".
3. It's not just the top speed it's also how the gears get through.
4. If you want to be a mechanic go to mechanic school.

I have stopped playing this game completely now and tomorrow I will go to walmart and get my money back claiming its not a complete game - dont think it will work because its open? - WRONG I have a friend who returned Black Ops a day after he got it (he told them he waited in line for this and they remembered him from the other night and its not working online so he got his money back, the manager at walmart game him store credit he can use for anything there so I will try to do that and maybe if its patched to fix this crap I will buy it again, but until then if I want to play it I will get a copy of and play it on my modded ps3 no problem

actually you cant enter the license test without first buying a car - you never use that car for the license and when you finish the license test you win a car - but you cant do anything without first buying a car

and tire pressure has nothing to do with getting a flat tire - you are stupid as ever - its so you can change the tire pressure so you can change the handling of the car - it makes a difference in the driving and how you corner, high pressure and you can corner faster but you can loose grip - if its low pressure then the tires will roll on the rim more and traction is different

But at the same time its ruining the game for me, As soon as I upgrade a car the gears are all wrong and 70% of the time slow the car down. It has to be brought into the light so to speak, So that @Kaz_Yamauchi knows its a major issue for us Hard core fans. Give me a what what if you agree!!

I have been thinking about this whole individual gear ratio thing and here's what i've come up with,mind you this is just a thought.My thought is only IF you can't unlock it in the later stages of leveling up.

Maybe,just maybe PD found an exploit in the individual gear ratios and decided to leave it out,but later would give it to us by a patch.Wouldn't this make a bit more sense?I mean imagine the people complaining over this if their was an exploit in the gear ratios.The complaining would never end until it was fixed.

I agree not being able to adjust gears individually, which has been in the game since like gt1 is a severe handicap to some cars. The f40's first gear is uselessly short and the 2-3 spacing is too large. It would be much better if I could make a tall first gear and then have a closer 2-5 because of it.

Also the fully customizable trans used to give all cars with 5 gears 6 gears. Now only some cars get this, IE f40 no, fc3s yes

Sounds like he's saying that He wasn't able to respond earlier, but he can now and will continue to.

I was torqued when I saw this as well. I like to setup each gear if/when possible.

This seems like one of those things they purposefully left out. That way they'll have a 'carrot' to drop in later just to keep us interested.

This individual gear ratio problem must be fixed. It was possible to adjust in '4, why not just keep the option.
To those saying it's not necessary; I say it is for me. I want to be able to fully tune my cars for the perfect set up.
I studied motor sport engineering, was a mechanic and have played the whole GT series tirelessly from the start. I don't want to level up to able to use this function as I play. I'm fully competent to fiddle with a tranny. (I know it sound perverted, I'm sorry)
A patch would be nice but I'm not going to stop enjoying the game due to this fault (or others for that matter, except the HUD).

yea the HUD is really becoming a problem for me - I have the Pioneer Elite PRO-111FD and being a Plasma (the best in the world at that, google it) it has problems with burn-in and I hate this but its the best display out there still to this day and they are 2 years old

I am an ISF engineer so I can say I have seen just about every tv out there and the kuro's are the best over all having a contrast ratio I have measured to be 37,000:1 and a 0.001 IRE black level, the 37,000:1 seems like not a lot but its the real contrast and an example is a newer plasma that claims to be 500,000:1 actually measures in at around 8,000:1 and some LCD's that are claiming to be 1,000,000:1 or higher are really lower then 5,000:1

they lie thats the only thing I can think of because I have $120,000 worth of measuring equipment that tells me otherwise - Minolta LS-100 and CS-100 as well as much other specialized stuff I have acquired over the years

but yea the HUD is stupid when I am using the in car view



I am thinking that its going to be like GT3 was for PS2

GT3 had like 200 cars or something low like that and not that many races as compared to GT1&2 - it was the first GT on PS2

then came GT4 that had like 700+ cars and tons of races - essentially it was GT 3 just better

now there is GT5 the first GT for PS3 and there are only 200 cars (yea really 1000+ but only 200 that are actually modeled new for the PS3) and only 9 races per category? - this is stupid

why are there all these different cars if there are no special races that are for certain types of cars from certain makes with certain mods allowed - no one will ever need all these cars with only this many races that mostly have "no restrictions" so you can use the same car for most races if you wanted to

I hate to say it but for my money I bet we are going to have to wait for GT6 for these problems to be solved - however I also bet there will be more things removed from the game in GT6 and it will become nothing more then one of the "Need for Speed" games with nicer cars and normal races - you wont be able to mod much of anything on the cars, lol



the suspension for left and right also is needed so you can balance the car properly - or there needs to be something that automatically does this

since there have been 2 patches so far with nothing fixed that I can see and there is no answer from PD or Kaz about this I dont believe they will fix it

now all thats left to do is complain until PD and Kaz here about this - it takes millions of people to complain before they will even look into it I am sure so I will be number 1 on the list

I noticed this the first 3 hours after the game came out and I bought my trans and couldnt change the gear ratios - I was pissed since then

The customizable transmission issue hasn't been worked out, but the HUD-problem (which rightkidney was talking about) has been patched - allowing you to completely or partially disable the intire HUD.
