If 11 year olds can do it IRL, WTF is the disfunction with many of GTS' players?
Racing starts at 2:19
Some people enjoy driving dirty, & PD doesn't cater to them. Dirty Shuffle lobbies were immensely popular in GT5, but they seem to be unaware of that fact. Trying to force everyone to drive to the same standards, and with a broken penalty system to boot, when different people have wildly varying racing preferences is a recipe for disaster (as is putting all ages & skill levels together out on the same track). Destruction derby/banger racing exists in the real world, as does aggressive BTCC style racing & Rally Cross, etc, & GT fans come from all kinds of different backgrounds having a wide range of tastes when it comes to what motorsports they follow in real life. PD's "optimistic" approach to Sport Mode reminds me of a Zoo owner who decides that all the animals should be put together in one large enclosure so that they can get along & play nicely with one another!
What do you think of requiring players to complete driving school and a series of preparatory races before beginning online competition?
In my experience there are many who don't care about injury in the real world. Don't even think about scratching their car though.... maybe that would help, if your car is damaged you must spend in game credit to repair it....?People don't have injury on the line in these races.
I would say, online tracks only unlock after completing the circuit experience for the trak you want to race on. It was kinda annoying that PD only added the circuit experience for new tracks in the update after introducing the track. But it would be a good requirement, gold it to race in sport mode on that track. (Although I guess races on the Nordschleife would be very low in attendance lol)
Or if not completed, restricted to SR.E SR.D SR.C matching.
Completed on bronze, up to SR.B matching.
Silver, SR.A matching at most.
Gold, SR.S unlocks for that track.
I was thinking toilet paper shortage. Why can't we be clean...?
Run out of soap...
Best way to fix the penalty system is ...REALITY. ANY collision of any sort....GAME OVER....RETIRED! Your race over! Both cars involved! ..
Races will be alot cleaner that much is 100% certain.
And too many retirements due to collisions....BANNED! Same as being sacked by a team.
Problem solved....online racing will be EXCELLENT!
I invite you to come race a stint or 2 on project cars 2.....So most tracks at T1 you lose half the field, next few turns a few more, now you are running with a field of 6-8 . . . how long do you think online racing will last?
Yes, a lot cleaner because fewer will be racing . . .not sure Sony, the game sponsors, or PD would like that very much.
4th statement into your approach and I am still not seeing any advantage to your method. Banned is a tough penalty. If you want "team" play then why not bring this type of feature into the GAME? After all we are talking about a game.
Not seeing a problem solved, actually seeing the end of a franchise because it went off the rails with it's penalty/punishment system and no one wants to play it anymore.
This is my rebuttal and only mine. Enjoy the game as it is, a multiplayer racing game (with problem areas).

So most tracks at T1 you would lose half the field...... IRW do they lose half the field at T1 and another quarter at turn 2? NO! So that shows me you are 100% ok with 16 cars all trying to go through a corner at the same time....So most tracks at T1 you lose half the field, next few turns a few more, now you are running with a field of 6-8 . . . how long do you think online racing will last?

You will rage quit and wont make the end of a single race.
You obviously 1 of the kind us real racers are trying to get rid of....
I dont fear such kind of rules as I am a very clean racer.
What we would be left with are all the serious clean racers. All the kiddies and their dive bombings will be gone !

Hmmm.... theres the problem....your mindset is wrong....but you definitely not alone so dont worry ..
