This 👍

Besides, the original tracks have some unique layouts that made it challenging (making that last chicane on Apricot Hill was surely challenging!)

So is Rouen, Autopolis International, Zolder and Monza pre 1960.

Maybe its just me, and I enjoyed those tracks, but I couldnt care less if I never played them again. I like REAL tracks. You know...sim-like.

Go back to Shift 2 then Vaxxtx....

I like the real tracks and wish there were more in the game but the GT originals are alot of fun in their own right. Doesn't make GT5 any less of a sim than Shift 2 (no flame wars guys...) to have freelance tracks in it IMO.

Because:

5th: Everybody likes them;
...
:D

Speak for yourself! I was glad that tracks such as Midfield, Apricot Hill and Seattle were left out. It's just a shame they didn't fill the void with more real world tracks. If i want made up arcade-style tracks i'll play a crappy 80's game like Outrun. I don't expect a leading title to be churning out made up tracks that are over a decade old, things need to change.

I miss El Capitan and Seattle for sure, but I would very much like to see Virginia International in game. It is by far the best track I have ever driven. I will admit I have never been to Europe or Asia and driven there, but out of the plethora of tracks in the States/Canada I've been on it was simply the greatest.

I never left Shift2....so....ok. Where did I say anything about GT5 being less of a sim because of tracks? Defensive much?

What he said.

Why do GT5 fans want all the old fake fantasy GT tracks instead of REAL WORLD tracks like Spa or Bathurst?

We don't want them instead, we want them as well as.

Also, if we don't get the GT tracks in GT, we aren't going to get them anywhere else, real tracks show up in other games

finally and most importantly, we want them because they are good

I find a lot more sim-like gameplay in S2 than GT5 though.
So is Rouen, Autopolis International, Zolder and Monza pre 1960.
Where are these from? Oh yes that game...

There's this thing called reading between the lines, and there's alot of words between your lines.

Defensive much? I'm no GT5 fanboy and I'll criticize the crap out of GT5, I'm just saying take the Shift 2 talk elsewhere.

Why do GT5 fans want all the old fake fantasy GT tracks instead of REAL WORLD tracks like Spa or Bathurst? is it because GT fans here aren't into racing and don't know that most real world tracks are way better than anything PD can come up with? They only buy GT for the cars/graphics and want to drive through fake mountains and over blue bridges across shiny water?

We want a bit of both. New real world tracks would be good, but nobody wanted to see brilliant tracks like Red Rock Valley, old Rome (complete with night layout), SSR11, Pikes Peak and Seattle (among others) disappear. Tracks like these is why I recently started playing GT2 again.

It's the same with cars. Lambos, Ferraris and Maseratis are fantastic, but we still want classics like the Espace F1.

I loved Midfield, and Seattle was my track.
In a superbird I was unstoppable.
If they weren't going to bring back the road courses, they should have at least brought back the rally stages. There simply isn't enough rally stages in GT5

Why do GT5 fans want all the old fake fantasy GT tracks instead of REAL WORLD tracks like Spa or Bathurst?
Because they don't? GT5 needs more tracks, and a good balance of real and virtual tracks, so I would prefer both. Virtual tracks also have the advantage in that they are not limited by real life limits, like safety, so PD can come up with some insane tracks that would never be built in real life.

Personally, I don't want new tracks unless they upgrade all tracks to the same level. And to the same level I mean of the same quality as the Nurb 24h track, so it looks alive rather than dead, and with weather and day/night.

Weather and time change is needed on all tracks for sure. I'd love more tracks to be added to, real and virtual just like many others but seriously, give me Spa any day of the week.

Old fans love old tracks.... why? Because you don't even have a close idea how much time I spent playing on them. I love them more than real ones, probably because I need another 13 years of my life to start loving them, also.

Although, they aren't real..... they are quite good tracks, I would like to see and race again.

Brings back the good old times with the PS1 and throwing the controller because the AI was too hard and was always in your way.

I spoke for myself when I said I love them:p And about the "everyone likes them", it means general dah. the majority:boggled:. Please read the posts and only then complain ok. Thank you:dopey:

Because the old tracks bring back great memories, I remember I used to stay up all night playing GT4 and going on a lot of different tracks that aren't in GT5. I had more fun than anyone ever could. It was amazing. I would really love to see Mid Field or
New York or Seoul back, they would bring back the memories stated above.

While I was watching the Hungarian GP, was thinking how the Budapest track would be great for GT5.

It might be a bit small track for F1 cars but to race here with a road car or GT500 would be awesome!

I've always loved the Seattle Circuit, but upon driving past Seattle recently I saw a giant parking garage in the section of track between the basketball and football stadiums near the end of where the course would go.
I hope this isn't why the track was not included. A slight change of course would be fine with me, or....OMG---THE TRACK CAN GO THROUGH THE PARKING GARAGE!!!! YEA!!!

That's the closest track to me. It is awesome! I ran the Patriot Course in my dearly departed 03 S2K for about 30 laps one day. Never run the Full Course at speed (plenty of fan laps though). I spent a day this year running my Evo X on a fan appreciation day around the North Course. Damn that car handles!

I go there at least twice a year. It's my idea of paradise. I'm planning on hitting the Vintage Event this Fall.

And yes, I agree. Would love to have a familiar track that's quite challenging.

I'm not sure pixel perfect accuracy was the reason considering the Kingdome was demolished before GT3 even came out but was still proudly standing in the version seen in GT4.

Also a thing called reading into something....which you did. I ask again where did I say GT5 is less of a sim because of the tracks? Yeah...I didnt. Please dont assume I am implying anything.

Anyway...the OP's point, I believe, was why people keep asking for old tracks instead of more RL ones. I agree.

Because the old tracks bring back great memories

Exactly. :dopey:👍

I've played only GT1 & a bit GT2, then came with GT5 back on the track & got a flash back from Grand Valley.

The track is so great, Sony should build it in real. :sly:

So I've got never the chance to drive on one of the new tracks from GT3, 4 & 5. Would be awesome if they could include the tracks in GT5, if they are good.

But overall I am more for new "real" tracks. More realysm & maybe useful for life. 👍

Am I the only one that wants Hong Kong back?

All "original" tracks should be included one day, it is just matter of heritage.

Every single old-school Original track is legendary by every mean - from SS11, Red Rock Valley or Tahiti Road, to Midfield, daylight and nightime original Rome, or Seoul or Hong Kong.

If PD was crazy enough to remake all Original tracks, I would gladly pay full-game price just for those assets. Why? Because sheer number of playtime hours spend on running all those circuits in online and offline would certainly superseed any other full-priced game otthere.

And by no mean I am alone in such thinking.

Welcome to the Gran Turismo series Kazanski. If you had ever played one of the GT games before, you would have your own favourite fake fantasy tracks that you miss because they aren't in the game anymore.

That's probably true, and that's why these old fantasy tracks wouldn't bring back memories for me. As for memories, can I please get the Gold Coast track?

Tracks that I wanted to see again:
-SuperSpeedway
-Test Course
-Complex String
-Seatle City Track
-Seoul
-New York
-Hong Kong
-Apricot Hill
-Swiss Alps
-Cathedral Rocks Trail (both variations)
-Grand Canyon
-Tahiti Maze
-El Capitain
-Mid-Field
-Citta di Aria
-Costa di Almafi
-George V Paris
-Opera Paris

I want the old tracks because I enjoyed playing them on the earlier versions of this game. I spent countless hours learning and racing on them and it feels like I've lost some old friends.

I would like to see some of the real world tracks that haven't been seen in the game yet.

At the end of the day, whether its a real track or a track created for the game, they are all fake tracks consisting of bits of data displayed on a monitor. There are no real mountains, asphalt, guardrails, or signage.

Dear op, i'm sure that everyone here want real track.

But the old fictional track were amazing, funny, and an important part of the gt series.
Also, we can "dream" more seriously about the old tracks because...they don't need new license or something. It's really a different thing to have spa or for example midfield.

But if you think that gt players don't want real tracks it's really ridicolous lol i can say it again without any doubt, EVERYONE wants both.
