Why do GT5 Fans want old tracks?

I don't get why some people are complaining about real tracks versus fictional tracks. Trial Mountain Circuit is a fictional one and I love driving and testing my cars on it as I'm sure many others do as well.

I want "old" tracks because I miss trying to get that corner going up the incline at Seattle Circuit just right in GT4. And trying to make sure I don't fly over the brake zone in a high powered car :lol:.

Because they are all awesome :D

why don't they give us some replica tracks for the seasonals? surely they have the tools to lay down the geometry and layouts of our favourite real world and fantasy tracks without much trouble (don't care about scenery or signage). Mt Aso with a bathurst layout!! doooo it!!

Original tracks which have been since in the 1st game of GT are kinda traditional tracks for GT and GT fans and they bring us back old memories when we first enjoyed a GT game in old days. But since GT declares it's "a real driving simulator" and now features realistic graphics a few real circuits such as the Nur and Suzuka should be included as well I guess. :)

VspecZR1GT2RS89, you made my eyes water a bit.
Well put.

:cheers:

Thanks, I'm glad you like the mini essay!

That's why I would love to have both types of tracks. For the newer challenges from Silverstone, but drive one of my favorite cars on a classic course, espically those cars that have been in the series ever since GT1(Silvia S15, Viper GTS, RUF RGT etc.).

We want old tracks mainly because we all spend hours if not days playing on them growing up (through the series). Who wouldnt want to bomb down the same tracks from way back when to see if they still had it committed to memory? I loved taking the S2000 GT1 around Midfield raceway, or absolutely destroying the competition in Seattle during the muscle car race. Who else grinded Seattle to get the Shelby Cobra just to sell it off for some credits before gameshark?

I do want real tracks. I think it would be awesome if we got an update in the future with some amazing reditions of what we know. For PD however, it will be more cost effective to revamp the old tracks than it would for them to take literally thousands of photos of real life circuits.

Was Spa ever in a previous version of a GT game? Just wondering because it's my favorite track in F1 2010 👍

Who saiz GT fans want only old tracks?

I personally would like a bit of both.

^This^

Eg: El Cap & Pikes Peak 👍
Eg: Spa & Hockenheim 👍

P.S. Paris Opera at night & the old Rome circuit. (That damn Yaris race! :lol: )

P.P.S. Costa di Amalfi - my fav grind. I used to drive EVERY new car in both races & then sell thet Toyota Raid car for 260k. I had 98m I couldn't spend. :lol: I can still see the guy taking pics & the ones sitting on the walls & at the outdoor cafe on the one corner...

Special Stage Route 11 is a piece of mastery unlike anything else conceived in human history.

Because we GT fans who have played GT since GT1 grew up playing with them. Because they are not real. Because they shouldn't have been cut from the game in the first place.

And a lot of real tracks are missing, like Motegi and Pikes Peak. But new ones like Spa and Bathurst would be nice. Plus, I want some F1 tracks like Sepang and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Maybe you GT5 is your first GT game. But to us GT fans, those "fake fantasy" tracks are Gran Turismo originals. Its like tradition to have them in the GT games. Them missing is a very big surprise.

Not really sure how a track that isn't "real" equates to inferior graphics in your mind but it makes no sense. I personally like most of the fantasy tracks better because I like to see something other than (YAWWWWWWN!) endless miles of green grass when I'm driving. That's just me though.

Why didn't they just bring back the old Rome? The new one is an epic fail and they could have just as easily remade the old one.

Tracks that I wanted to see again:
-SuperSpeedway
-Test Course
-Complex String
-Seatle City Track
-Seoul
-New York
-Hong Kong
-Apricot Hill
-Swiss Alps
-Cathedral Rocks Trail (both variations)
-Grand Canyon
-Tahiti Maze
-El Capitain
-Mid-Field
-Citta di Aria
-Costa di Almafi
-George V Paris
-Opera Paris

My fav out of that list is El Capitain - I remember how good it looked to me when I first played it on GT4 on the PS2. Loved that course.

One of my biggest problems with GT5.

I rather have real tracks too.

I just need the Nurburgring, dont care for any other track. But i want Porsche to add all their cars into this game now!

I think the point is that as these tracks had already been modelled, people see no reason not to have them

All "original" tracks should be included one day, it is just matter of heritage.

Every single old-school Original track is legendary by every mean - from SS11, Red Rock Valley or Tahiti Road, to Midfield, daylight and nightime original Rome, or Seoul or Hong Kong.

If PD was crazy enough to remake all Original tracks, I would gladly pay full-game price just for those assets. Why? Because sheer number of playtime hours spend on running all those circuits in online and offline would certainly superseed any other full-priced game otthere.

And by no mean I am alone in such thinking.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I dearly miss El Capitain. And in fact all the others too. Maybe because graphic wasn't that good back in the days, the original original tracks were a bit more inspired? Or maybe it's just nostalgia I don't know.

I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dissappinted at the lack of Spa Francorchamps. Seriously, this track is renowned as the worlds greatest track, so no idea why PD didnt get it. Perhaps licensing issues......But the inclusion of Monza and its different variants helped with the pain.

PS what is with people wanting Bathurst? Its a decent track, but only when compared to other Australian tracks (most of which are utter ****). I'd pick 20 different tracks around the world before I'd have bathurst. Infact, I'd prefer to have Phillip island over bathurst IMHO.

Its the internationally recognised one, it would be a great addition, as would Spa.

Thanks to spending so much time on them in Forza i would love to see Mugello, Road Atlanta, Sebring in GT5. I miss them :guilty:

Because:
1st: They should already be in the game;
2nd: They are cool;
3rd: They exist only in GT;
4th: I like them;
5th: Everybody likes them;
6th: They feel nostalgic;
7th: Read reasons above.
...
:D

not everyone likes them. I want real tracks not those fake non realistic tracks
