Why do people instist to use the "E-Cheat"

I'm just confused why people need to use this. You'll never be pro by using that. And if any one can help me how can you detect if someone is using the cheat. I want to know so I can call them out.

People use it because they;

(A)= either feel slow so they can cheat

(B)= for them they don't really care because it's just a game

(C)= just to get a sense of being a "fake" pro.

I think a lot of people utilize option B.

But if you want to know if someone is using the E-cheat, when you line up next to them, if you hear their revs go down TREMENDOUSLY, like if they are pretty much going back down to 2000 RPM, then going back to Redline, then you know they are using the E-Cheat.

What it does: acts like skid recovery force, increases grip off the line, reduced wheelspin

How to spot it: lets assume your car has a TOP tune. and you get a fully even tree with someone. if they still put 3 cars on you, off the line, and they have SRF off, theyre e-cheating.

but for the record, e-cheating is largely whined about by people with slow ass cars, assuming the people who are beating them, are cheating. when they are really not.

ive been drag racing a long time and i've never seen someone use the cheat. the next time you get murdered off the line, check if they are using SRF. and unless your name is on the leaderboard in a few #1 spots, you shouldnt be accusing ANYONE of cheating, because chances are, your car is just slow

This is also true.

But you must also know that if you're driving in a Viper ACR with a decent tune, and a Ford GT '06 rolls up next to you and literally beats you to death, then that's an eye-opener for the E-cheat.

But it doesn't really matter if they use it or not, what are they going to achieve if they're good IN A VIDEO GAME?
 
What is it? I know what the effects are. But what are they actually doing. If you don't want to say it to everyone who read it you can PM me.
 
Im a decent tuner but I've met a few people that use it. I was just making sure that I heard the right sounds for e cheating. I've made rooms with everything restricted and have heard people drop from redline and back to it and get a car or 2 lengths ahead of me.
 
i dont know how its done and I dont care if I lose anymore. Ive been circuit racing more anyway because of the drama.
 
Cheats

"E-Cheat"
A certain trick, which massively improves acceleration in starting gear through reducing wheelspin without risking to bog or stall. It works well online and is really highly effective.
It doesn't work with FWD cars though and just hardly with AWDs.

The only way to find out if somebody's using it, is to listen carefully. Listen how your opponents car sounds in first gear. If you hear a clear and regular sounding engine, it's fine. But if you clearly hear it stuttering, then he's probably using the trick/cheat.

Note: Be aware that e-cheating is heavily frowned upon. Better don't use it!

It is clearly apparent that all one really need to do is read the stickies and they will learn all they need to know about drag racing in GT5.
Too bad there is such a lack of intelligence floating about this place that just reading those threads never pops into anyones minds.
 
a long time ago i beat this kid he had the same car as me but his gears sounded wierd then when i went off to main lobby i went on his name to say he is slow as %*@£ hahah i know i was harsh. but i saw he was using the ssrf thing. then instead of saying your slow as **** i put you cheating little ****. slow biatch. ahah
 
i agree to disagree... the people that are using it are people that cant tune well enough to run with the big boys so they detune it even more and set up 2 ebrakes so they can win.. to me thats whack... we all started at the bottom and made our way up... i laugh alot when see those certain few talkin like they are gods then i put them back to the real world... this is a game and if you cant take it then dont play, cheating other people isnt cool and its not making you any faster... "using brakes to go faster" serious haha what a joke!
 
My viper runs 9.981 legit its on the gt5dr.com leaderboard. Two days ago my acr was being smoked at indy by over a car length ever run. They guy I raced heavily deny's he uses e cheat but I suppose they would say that wouldn't they.

All in all PD are the ones to blame here in my opinion & they should sort it out.

I assume you mean 8.981.. But how 'legit' is it. Are you RPM launching, Retro Launching or Full throttle..
 
1st gear retro launch has nothing to do with e-cheat but is also useless at Indy, it's used for leaderboard purposes only.

Which is why none of my times come too terribly close to top spot. I tune my cars to run well. I use my SSRX tunes at Indy. I dont use the 1st gear retro launch and I dont know what it is. Im no longer after times. Im just here to enjoy myself.

Yeah, I tune on SSRX for Indy, and that's not optimal but close enough for me. I've never got the retro launch to work yet and it only works on cars that would normally launch in second at Indy. A couple of my 4wd cars are close to the top, I try to get the best times I can with launches that are acheivable at Indy.

i normally tune cars that noone will bring out to indy. Since they arent to top 15 cars I never get to run them. i cant wait for the community to tire of the same 15 cars over and over and tune slower cars. You can only run the gtr so many times before you finally decide to actually have fun with tuning again.
