Why do pitstops take so long?

No, but it does slightly affect performance. When racing NASCAR online at Daytona, a near-empty fuel tank makes you up to 0.150 faster per lap.

As for the slow refuelling, GT5 refuels you at exactly 2 litres per second.

About fuel and performance, check this post: www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=173959&page=2

SHIRAKAWA Akira made a test with a Citroen 2CV and got significant diferences!

Sent using GTPlanet for Ipad. Fantastic work Jordan!

A lot of endurance series' run compulsory Flow restrictor plates to make sure other things like driver changes aren't dangerously rushed

Just something I've noticed, but if you get sick of waiting, and you've already got your new tires and they've dropped you off the jacks, you can just hit the "Pit Cancel" button and Bob will roar out of the pits with whatever fuel they've managed to spoon into his tank... :)

I've tried this before, just to see what it would do, and nothing happened. Bob just stayed there until all the fuel was in.

Works every time I've tried it. Weird. Now that you mention it, though, I can't honestly recall if I've only done it in A-spec, or only done it in B-spec. Maybe it works in one, and not the other. Now I've gotta go enter some races and try it again to see how and where I did it!

F1 cars took over 10 seconds to to half fill, over 20 seconds to full fill (buy you never see that as they fuel before the race.. anything less than 10 is just a quick grab of fuel until the next fuel stop.
Notoriously unreliable and dangerous.
I didn't know they were French.

i only drive the tesla in an attempt to save the gt planet from a potential global warming conspiracy, i urge other to think about using more fuel efficient vehicles in game and leave those dirty polluting gas guzzling vehicles in the garage.

jk ;)

I was watching Grand Am, and they mentioned it takes about 40 seconds to refuel one of the cars on an empty tank. So GT5's refueling is pretty accurate. in terms of time.
