I have eaten a few peices of string cheese lately, and it seems sour and gross!
I used to eat it and never remember anything i disliked about it... any reasons why?
I know the cheese isn't rotten...

It could just be that you don't like the taste of it now, or its just a bad one, or its a different brand than what your used to. How long has it been since you last had string cheese?

I went through a stage where i didn't like ham anymore, but now i like it again.

I remember I used to love granola bars when I was growing up, then one time I had one that completely nauseated me. Turns out I only like Quaker's Chewy-brand granola bars -- the one that made me sick was some generic copycat.

I also used to like coconut until I had a Little Debbie's German Chocolate snack for lunch at school. That also made me nauseous, and I haven't really liked coconut since.

Then there's donuts, which I also used to love, until, after having them for breakfast, I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up. It probably wasn't the donuts that did it, but they were the only thing on my mind at the time. Now plain donuts are all I can eat, unless they're those Hostess mini-donuts that come in a flimsy box -- I can still eat those for some reason.

Tastes change. Or you got bad string cheese.

Ive been having the same brand for 4 mnonths now, but these couple a weeks, it justs disgusts me...
thanks for th replies dso far.

Maybe the problem is that your string cheese was made in California. Wisconsin cheese is far superior. :sly:

Like wolfe and i sorta said, you can go from liking something, but even the smallest bad experience can cause you to hate it. Have you had any bad experience with string cheese in the time that you have been eating it?

It could be a number of things. For example, maybe the refrigerated truck it was transported in was the wrong temperature or wasn't working all together, or maybe on the way home from the store, your vehicle was a little too hot. Another factor is how old it is. Plenty of times i've went to make a ham and cheese sandwich and when i take a bite, it tastes horrible or like cheddar (Because the person at the deli decided to use the machine that previously cut cheddar :grumpy:)

one more thing, has this only happened with one thing or is it a reoccurring experience when you eat string?

Maybe it's just that you're slowly realising that cheese, of any kind, is the Devils work?

Anyway, all cheese is rotten. That's what it is - rotten milk. :yuck:

And the green-blue bits in Gorgonzola is mold, just like with all other 'blue' cheeses. Nummy.

Gorgonzola stuffed in a sirloin roast is just about the best thing you can put in your mouth.

I have a suggestion, why don't you stop eating (string) cheese?I know this sounds crazy, but trust me.When you don't have the urge to eat something, don't force yourself to eat! Just stop for awhile and eat something else in the mean time. When you have the urge to eat it again, you will definitely like it!Everybody will have this problem at least once.Another theory is what Diablo' said. But since you said it wasn't rotten, then i don't know how it is.....

FIXED!!1! :sly:

Man, this thread is making me want to head over to Culver's and have a Double ButterBurger Swiss with french fries and fried cheese curds...

It has the same texture too most of the time.

Seconding 'just stop eating the stuff'- if you eat enough of anything you'll eventually get sick of it, even if it's your favourite food ever. Plus, if you eat so much that it makes you ill, you'll probably be put off for life. I had a nasty experience with a particular brand of Danish orange squash that involved bright orange vomit - I've never drunk orange squash since. :ill:

Cheese=Win. Especially Jarlesburg.

Also String Cheese is awesome to eat when you are like 7.

Maybe you aren't refridgerating the cheese properly?

How can you eat that stuff? It's been through as many processes as a plastic.

Silly brits, not realizing the greatness of cheese, even string cheese...

It's the reason we're second in the obesity charts and not first ;)
I loves me some deep-fried cheese curds.

I only have just a bit of a gut, though, and if I cut soda from my diet and changed nothing else I'd probably return to the way I looked in high school.

But that's another topic. Tulok, have you tried a different brand of string cheese?
