why is GTP slowing down????

everytime i got here it takes forever to log on, and sometimes it takes time to just got to the next page thread???
and jordan GTP is the SHlT!

Same thing here. It goes slow in there most of the time. Is it cause all of the post?

I don't know for sure, but i think that's the reason. It's the only thread where it happens.

I know about the slowdown of "How many replies can we get?", and as I mentioned here, it is putting quite a strain on the database due to it's size and popularity. However, I am working with the vB developers to try and optimize a few things.

yes HMRCWG slows me down tons...I get a lot of "page can't be displayed" and "504 Gateway timeout" which are both corrected by refreshing the page, but it takes a long time...

Maybe there's a way to compress say the first 50K posts...

That's odd that all these cable people are noticing slowdowns. I haven't noticed any signs of slowing down on my 56k. It's still loading faster than ever...

"Cable people"?! Excuse me Josh, but I'm on 28K...and I'm having the same problem.(ok ok, I know my connection is slow already, but this makes it even slower...)

I am on a fairly fast 56k. I am constantly always being connected at 32kbps. That is fast for a 56k. It is not just "How Many Replies," but it is GTPlanet in general sometimes. I sometimes avoid coming here because I do not want to be moving slow.
