How many threads did you create?

It's all down to licensing.

It really is that simple.

Bye

Can you just stop creating duplicate threads over and over again? We're not PD, so we don't know the answer for your question.

Good. I can't tell you how glad I am stuff like the aforementioned was left out. Modern super cars appeal only to children, are incredibly boring to drive, and waste PD's resources that should be going into modeling cars that GT should have. It's bad enough we now have a wealth of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc.

How many super cars are sold to children?

I think the real question is who buys super cars? The answer is people with incredible amounts of money, no ability to drive, and purely want a status symbol to show off with. Manufacturers of super cars understand this which is why they are all now filled with incredible amounts of electronic traction control and stability devices to make sure their customers don't kill themselves immediately.

Super cars aren't enthusiasts cars, they're play-things for the 1% of the population who need to desperately make it apparent to everyone that they have money. Gran turismo is a game for car enthusiasts and it's content should reflect that.

Car enthousiasts in my opinion are indiscriminate with cars, just like PD is with their car selection, especially recently. With the obscure just as deserving as the Super Duper and the historic.

In some situations they are there to make the car legal to sell. In the US it's a requirement on all new cars I believe. You can always turn it off.
I'm F1 they used to have traction control...is that because the drivers were bad? If done properly those can improve a cars performance. It doesn't mean every super car driver is useless.
People want these in the game because there is no way they could drive or sometimes even see one in reality.

I admit I don't like seeing wish lists ripped right from Top Gear but there is a huge market for the cars. If you tossed those up as DLC they would most likely be the top Sellers.

So if you like Ferrari's then you're not allowed to be an enthusiast.
And if you have lots of money, then you have no ability to drive.

Hmmm.

I think the question is who would like to drive a super car in a game?
Yes, Gran Turismo is a game.
It's a game that caters for many different tastes.

I can make no arguments against the legality point, in the UK there are no such restrictions - if there are in the 'States then obviously manufacturers must abide by them.

They soon did away with it in F1 though, because the technology was very rapidly evolving to make the driver become very much less important. though certainly I'm far from an expert in traction control history and development I am aware the gear Mansell was using to battle Senna was incredibly primitive to the extent it likely made him slower in wet conditions. With todays technology that would simply not be the case.

the unfortunate conclusion to this is you're right. People who buy Gran Turismo games seem to love these cars, and therefore it makes good financial sense for PD to continue to model these things. I just wish GT had a different audience.

What would you like to see?
Wouldn't the Atom be on the same level as the LCC Rocket?

The difference with things like the Atom, Caterhams, etc, is they're all uncomfortable things designed to go fast, they're also (comparatively!) a lot cheaper. Look inside a modern super car and they have air conditioning, sat nav, leather seats, sound proofing, etc, all of which are detrimental to performance. They're NOT primarily designed to go fast, that is their secondary function.

Their main function is to make a loud noise to get attention, be comfortable, and easy and SAFE to drive on the roads for someone of any skill level.

Yeah, just saying that which the OP suggested I though would appeal to a Rocket fan. Along with the MC12 which I believe is a Ferrari Enzo minus the electronic assists and some Maserati bits attached.

Yeah the Atom is fine by be, i would consider it a good addition. MC12 not so much, it still has electric windows and a stereo.

EDIT: Heh, actually I just read it doesn't have a stereo, apologies. But things like this in its design clearly demonstrate it's oriented towards the super rich attention seeker

"the interior is intended to be luxurious. The interior is a mix of gel-coated carbon fibre, blue leather and silver "Brightex": a synthetic material which was found to be "too expensive for the fashion industry.""

I cannot agree with some of the sentiment directed towards supercars. A lot are ridiculous but Porsche are my favourite, and they are not flamboyant or exaggerated in design, some may describe them as ugly, but not 'Lambo' ugly. To me they are beautiful in design, they look normal.
And a lot of American 'Supercars', if there is such a thing? Yes, can look exotic like SRT Vipers and Chevvy ZR1's, but they lack the lunacy of many high performance machines. Just as Porsche ooze performance design moulded by practicality, the these American pinups ooze working class muscle, not over-the-top snobbish extravagance.

After all that I would still like a Zonda........ or a Lamborghini, he he hee
