Could they not get the licensing? A Cayman S or an old Speedster would be great. If they could get Ferrari on board, why not Porsche?

EA has the exclusive license, they can give out "sublicenses", but they can decide how much they want for them and which developer can buy them.

Just noticed I misspelled Porsche in the thread title... :dunce: I'm new to the GT scene, that's why I didn't know about the EA thing.

EA is the China of video game producers. Nobody really likes them and they're a pain in the ass to deal with, but they have the money and are the 300 lb Gorilla...

while it is a shame they were not able to get the Porsche license or any cars, having RUF isnt a bad thing, as it at least lets us have a taste of it, and ive also heard Kaz wanted to put his personal Porsche in GT3, but they wouldnt allow it, so he just hidden the car in the game's coding :sly:

EA pfft, give it to PD... would be nice to have premium porsches Carrera GT woah.

And that was discovered through GameSharking and Polyphony got into some trouble.

So EA "graciously" granted Microsoft the Porsche licenses for Forza? ANd Forza barely sells a handful of titles?

Makes no sense why they would not grant the license to PD and make more money via vastly more sales.

There is something else at work here. EA has "had this exclusive" for a very long tim ethen, almost too long to seem probable - did they sign a life-time deal with Porsche?

Actually, that would be Activision.

Charging $15 for map packs for a certain game that goes to duty when called in modern warfare, number deuce.

They also publish lame hero games that feature guitars when everyone is moving to the new band of rock.

Maybe Microsoft just payed tons of money Sony didn't want to and the lower sales numbers from Forza compared to GT also mean Forza is not such a great competition to NfS like Gran Turismo.
