do you think gt5 will have better looking tracks than gt5p

I'm obviously hoping that the tracks look better than GT5p... but to be honest, GT5p's tracks look absolutely wonderful.
If there is one thing that PD could do, is to make the tracks a little less pristine. I don't mean graphics wise of course. I mean dirty them up a little. Suzuka and Fuji look great on GT5p, but when you see a race meeting at these tracks, they never look pristine. Because real life isn't pristine. More dirt in the grass, the track surface a little less smooth, rubbed off paint work on the track lines and walls, that sorta thing.
But i'm not exactly going to be disappointed if the tracks look the same as GT5p though. GT5p looks wonderful anyway. Anything else is a bonus.
Totally agree with everything you said regarding dirtying up the tracks. Given the limited amount of graphics RAM on PS3 though it would be difficult to implement properly. You'd end up with the 'dirtying up' looking the same all over the track, theres only so many textures you can fit into 256MB.
I agree with you Krymzen18, but GT4's trees (2 polygons) aren't good enough when you see games like grid or dirt with great looking trees where every leaf is moving by the wind.
If the concept movie is anything to go by, they have dirtied them up. I agree entirely with your thoughts though.I'm obviously hoping that the tracks look better than GT5p... but to be honest, GT5p's tracks look absolutely wonderful.

I'm expecting the tracks to look the same as those in prologue, but dynamic night/day cycles could make the same track look very different. Assuming that feature makes it into GT5.

London track looked amazing in GT5
Ah yes... London... I hope you guys don't mind a quick off-topic question, but do you think there will be a longer version of the London track in the full game?
I just get the feeling that it could be way longer. I mean, videos on YouTube show an F2007 laptime of around 37secs. I don't mean to sound like a whiney brat here... because I am so, so grateful for whatever Kaz gives us... but surely, after everyone has been raving about wanting a London track, and we finally have it, we could have had more?
I think it should be like in GT4 - Clubman/Special Stage, and Cathedral Rocks - one shortened version, one longer version.

I *think* KY confirmed there was going to be a longer version of London. Can't point you to a link confirming that though.

You need to check out games - or at least videos of games - like Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2... lotta 2's there.Totally agree with everything you said regarding dirtying up the tracks. First, Froza 3 only has eight car races.Btw. I think they szhoul give cars more polys. Now they have ~200k polys. Forza 3 (from what I know) has got ~350k polygons per car. In fact, cars in GT5look great but in some parts there should be more polys.
You need to check out games - or at least videos of games - like Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2... lotta 2's there. But if you get a high quality look at them from a site like Gametrailers or the like, the texture work in those games are simply stunning. For a system with divided 256GB of system and GPU ram, the PS3 is even showing up some gaming PCs.
I think the tracks are going to look a little better in GT5, but as said previously, everything looks outstanding in Prologue, so I'd be happy with that. Except for High Speed Ring, which looks unfinished, but I expect that track to be polished up quite a bit for GT5.
