I dont see Fisher ever getting into F1, and I dont know of any other women trying not in America anyway, do you guys know of any??

Unlikely. Danica Patrick would be the obvious choice, she finished 2nd in the Formula Ford Festival in 2000, an event know for being a good F1 feeder.

The winner of that race? A Mr Anthony Davidson. The gap on the last lap between the two teammates?

Not a lot.

I seriously doubt I'll see it in my lifetime - there's just so few women in the lower echelons of open wheelers.

One day.
No way I could ever predict when, though.

There really isn't as great a percentage of female racing drivers as opposed to say, 15 years ago. It's about 1-2% among all categories that I'm aware of.

NASCAR, however, has a huge following with female racing fans, I've noticed. It will probably be the series that crowns the first female racing champ.

 There'd be black flags everytime they broke a nail .. But seriously I think that the most that'll ever happen is a Womens racing Championship gets created.. But then again you never know? :D

I would like it if a woman were to enter motorsport and really prove themselves, as Sarah Fisher seems to be doing in IRL, and Ellen Lohr did in the olden days of the original DTM.

I dont know why this would be so great. What would be the cool thing about a girl racing cars, Unless shes pretty too. Imagine if you will Jessica Alba was a racing driver, now we'er talking.

 Female race drivers (as with the footballers) tend to be on the large side, we ain't gonna see no Pit Babes in the cockpit....Though it'd be great if we did

Imagine in the pits:
Engineer: 'So what do you think of the settings :car: love'
Female Driver: 'Well I don't like the colour :cubist:? How about pink?'..

i don't see why there couldn't be a female F1 champ... the question isn't why, it's when!

Michele Mouton nearly won the WRC championship back in the Group B era, and there's a women (whose name i can't remember) that won the Paris Dakar Motorcycle class a few times too.

it's not like there aren't any good women race drivers out there!
