In your log, it shows if you recieved a car but if it showed that a car was sent people would know that you are trustworthy.

Well the game needs proper trading not just gifting.

Gifting relies on trust.

If it allowed actual trades then it would work like an escrow.

Not that it worries me as I don't swap things.

You are missing it completely !! It says send a "gift" not "trade cars" . Gifts are not something you expect in return ! I gift my son's and wife's account they gift back.When you use the "gift" to "trade with strangers" then you are in the lap of the gods if you get a car back. It serves one right if they get conned out of a car. Gifting is good until abused, now it is abused to the point that everyone suffers because of a handful ! There are families who only have 1 PS3 and are now shafted where gifting is concerned ! So to biatch about a system which has been abused and now been capped just goes to show how little insight into the concept of "Gifting" that the ones crying about it possess.

It's quite safe as long as you back up before you send the car and restore right after. That way the worst thing you lose is the ability to trade for 1 day.
