GT5 hasn't been the same in my eyes since the GT6 demo. I have only been playing GT5 once or twice a week since, so I imagine I would shelve GT5 when I get 6.

Depends. I don't play GT4 anymore, mainly because I packed away my PS2 a long time ago. If something about GT6 rubs me the wrong way, which I'm not expecting just saying, then I'll keep playing through GT6 while revisiting GT5 occasionally.

For someone with zero hybrid interest there is zero reason to stay.
6 has better physics plus everything from 5 (exception of Top Gear test track) plus more new cars and tracks not in 5.
I really can't believe anyone with 60 bucks and a interest in the game would stay on 5.

If you want to stick with GT5, go ahead. It won't affect the rest of us at all. But since you're a new player, it sounds like you're upset that people are moving on to GT6 when you just got GT5. Hate to break it to you, but a lot of us have had GT5 for a very long time and are ready for something new. Just the way it is.

I will agree with you on the fact that I don't want to be left alone on GT5. I only got the game 3 months ago and am moving up the levels fast. When I do finish GT5 it scares me to think that there will not be as many people online for me and anyone else who wants to drift/drag race against friends.
But I will argue on the fact that people are tired of GT5. Some people are in the same shoes I am, and want everything to stay longer. To get the same treatment that you GT5 "Veterans" had. We just want to be a part of Gran Turismo History like everyone else. I'm sure there is even some older players who want to stay a little longer than you!

Just save 15 bucks a month and when it releases you too can live the dream but this time you can be with others living the same dream instead of a solo dream. My copy of GT5 will hit the shelf with all the other GTs. Besides about a month after GT6 releases online for GT5 will be a barron wasteland. A ghost town.

Once I get GT6 in my hands, theres no way I'm going back to GT5. I'll be deleting its updates and probably the save data as well, just for GT6.

All I can tell you is when you do get online, it won't be totally empty. GT5 won't instantly become abandoned once GT6 comes out. Sure, I imagine a large number people migrating immediately to GT6, but some will stick around for a while longer. But yeah, I understand some may not be able to get a game as soon as other people, but this is what happens when you buy a game late in its life span, especially when its successor is coming soon.

Been there, done that. 👍 Like I said, GT5 has more than ran its course for me. Ready to move on.

And there's nothing wrong with that. But doing so and expecting everyone who already owned it (many for years by this point) to hold onto it when there doesn't appear to be any reason to is still pretty odd.

I still play it every day and enjoy it, but I'll won't have time to play it when I get the new game. There's no way I'm going to sell it or delete the game data though.

I probably won't have GT6 on the release date, but when i get it, i will definetely comit myself to that one and stop playing GT5. Gt6 will most likely be better then GT5 in allmost every way, so why keep playing both?

To be honest, I've gotten rather bored of GT5. 1000+ cars, maximum cash of $20M, and taking forever to finish level 39. No, I haven't done everything, but what I haven't done is so tedious as to not be worth it. Add to that the hacking scene (though I am 'guilty' of having a Red Bull X2010 5G), and even the online has lost most of its appeal.

I don't think you are able to save ps3 pure data on external, coz all my 40gb memory is about ps3 data games (MGS, Splinter Cell HD, GT5 are together very very huge).

I never play old racing games. One of the few genres where I don't go back to play old games. Racing game sequels are almost always better in every aspect, and I don't think I'll go back to the slow as hell menus of GT5 after the buttery smooth ones on GT6 (if it's anything like the demo).

If there is something I enjoyed in GT5 that I can't do in the next game, then I will play GT5 from time to time if I already have it's successor. But I am hoping that this will not be the case, since I'm expecting GT6 to have some new features that I will be enjoying more, as well as having the old enjoying features from it's predecessor.

Everything from GT5 is being carried over to GT6 so it's not like going back to GT4 to take a spin around Seattle or something - there's going to be nothing worth coming back for.

I quit the online portion of GT5 a long time ago (and only get on for Shuffle races, since you can't hack in there... I think) & will not miss it when I go to GT6... but I do want to attempt to complete GT5 as much as possible, even if it means playing it while also playing GT6.

Even now I still pull out GT2 for a spin every so often.
