At like the wind I noticed when my 787b flys by at 260 a few seconds later I hear this noise that sounds like wind is it? What is this sound?

What you are noticing is your car slipping in and out of hte draft created by the 787B. As you trail the other car, you'll notice a lack of wind noise, and your car seems to go a bit faster at this point.

WHen you slip out of the draft, the wind noise reappears and you'll lose a bit of speed.

Experiment with following close to cars and then shifting your position back and forth.

Good luck,

AO

I also have noticed that when two cars are running close to each other, you can hear the wind, especially if you are running side-by-side in two player.

Heh, and stick your hand out to wave at the other driver at about 350 km/h...

Dodge, your hand would probably get ripped right off at that speed!!

I don't think that's what he was talking about. I think Earth was talking about when driving ALONE with the 787B on the test course, when going very fast and your car flies past the camera in the replay you hear it woosh by, but then a couple of seconds later you hear a secondary and different woosh that has more of a wind sound to it. I have heard this phenomenon in many fast cars including the Speed 12, 787B, GT-ONE, and a bunch of others. I don't know what speed this crops up, and I'm not quite sure what it is, so let the real discussion begin...

One time I stuck my arm out the window doing 110mph (177kph), and that was a lot of wind! One time I got a motorcycle up to 125mph, and I couldn't help thinking, "I wonder if I sat up just a little if I would be instantly ripped off the bike?"

My dad used to fly A-7's (single-seat jet, cruises at 550mph, or 875kph). One time, a guy he was flying with had a problem with the canopy, and ended up having to jettison the rear glass section in mid-flight. Nothing else was wrong (the front windscreen part was in tact), and they were already on their way back, so they kept flying normally. They were descending, but still going well over 300mph. Well, the guy got a little too comfortable, and without thinking put his elbow up on the sill like he was driving his car. The wind caught his elbow, pulled his whole arm out of the cockpit, and pinned it backwards against the side of the plane.

It severely dislocated his shoulder, but it didn't rip his arm off  ...Surprisingly enough, it didn't break his arm or even damage any ligaments, but I'm sure it still hurt like hell.

My dad knew of another guy who was in Viet-Nam who ejected at 500mph in a rain storm. It killed him instantly, like he'd been hit with a shotgun. :(

This phenom occurs a lot if you're doing Free Runs and you have the ghost turned OFF.

The secondary noise is your ghost going round, only you can't see it. Hit the "select" button to turn it on, et voila!

no it doesnt.

cept for normal ghost nioses like rattling chains and the ever-present Whooooooo, Whoooooooo! :p

I didn't think the ghost made a noise..Does the "wind" only occur from the bumper cam?
Because I use the 3rd person view, and I never hear much...;)

The wind noise was introduced in GT3, but drafting has always been in the GT series, hasn't it? I remember drafting in GT2, can't quite remember if you could in GT1 though.

...NOT A GOOD IDEA PEOPLES

were u pretending to be superman? :p

The ghost car DOES make a noise, even when turned off.

Do a slow lap of any track - 787B is a very noticeable car to listen for. Then cream it one and park somewhere out on the track - handbrake and everything. Then listen...
