And pictures to come later :).

I didn't get a whole LOT of videos, but the Firebird videos are stunning.

C-130 Hercules

C-130 Video 2

C-130 Landing

C-130 Takeoff

Firebird Delta Warmups

Firebird Delta Warmups 2

Firebird Delta Warmups 3

Firebird Delta Aerobatics Finale

I still have a couple more videos to add, and quite a few pictures, so check back for updates :).

Edit:

Look at the expender on the M16A2. You can see live rounds in the chamber. Safety measures lacking much?

Air shows are great, aren't they? I've seen a 3-ship group like those Firebirds, I don't remember if that's what the ones I saw were called or not, but they were incredible. WWII fighters are awesome, too, the sounds and the maneuverability. Also, the size compared to modern jets -- they're TINY!!!

I'd like to suggest a couple things for you on your video. I hope I don't come across as a smart-a#% know-it-all, but it is how I make part of my living. I'm genuinely trying to help. Please take it as assistance, not criticism.

Don't use the high-speed shutter for stuff like this. It exaggerates camera shake and creates a series of freeze frames rather than smooth movement, and when light is insufficient (say, like a cloudy day) it increases video noise from excessive gain being applied. I know people try to use high-speed shutter so stills off the video look good, but a 720x480 picture (640x480 after you square the pixels up) with a small subject in the center will never blow up into anything useful anyway.

Don't walk while you're shooting, again exaggerates camera shake.

Use both hands to hold the camera, not one. No human alive can hold a camera one-handed steady enough for long shots like these (long lens, not long time.) Also, if you're using the fold-out screen, close it and use the viewfinder. The eyepiece against your face helps steady the camera by giving it a resting point. Besides, the external screen eats battery by needing to be lit, your battery will last at least twice as long using the viewfinder.

Oh, one other thing. On a display vehicle, brass doesn't mean live ammo. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the M16 was loaded with empty brass for a realistic appearance. That weapon probably can't even fire a real round.

Actually, I was taking the videos with my digi-cam, and there are no options to change on it. No shutter speed, nothing. And it also gets very tiring holding the damn thing with 2 hands for 8 minutes straight while trying to follow those planes in full zoom (you can't zoom in our out DURING record mode, only before).

I wasn't trying to get amazing shots or breathtaking recordings. I just wanted some videos of what we saw.

Well, that works a lot better than the video option on MY digital camera. I get 15-fps MPEG, not real good resolution. Can't zoom during the shot, either, but that's probably OK, as a still camera has a pretty fast zoom, not good for moving pictures.

For video from a still camera, that's much more impressive!
But when you get (or use) a camcorder, remember my suggestions. . ..:sly:
