May 17, 2006 - The world's most popular soccer simulation was more successful than ever last year! According to Japan's Mainichi Interactive, Konami's Winning Eleven series crossed the 7 million mark in worldwide sales for the first time last year, owing to strong demand in Europe due to the World Cup.


The specific sales total for the year ending March 2006 is 7.08 million units. This is well above last year's total of 5.8 million.
Just imagine how things will pick up once the World Cup actually starts!

I just wish that Fernando would get on with finishing up the translation, because he added a beta V4 patch. Also I hope that someone figures out how to insert kits properly as well, because it seems to be stumping allot of people at the moment.

Yes i have said this before, playing on a higher difficulty actually makes it easier to score, that's why i play on 6 star .

Formation A - do you play with 5-4-1? Weird formation....
Formation B is the one I'd choose I had to.

No, man. The formation is a 4-4-1-1, but the strategy adjustments are 5-4-1 and 4-4-2. One for defense and one for attack.

do you use those direction arrow things in the formation? Also holy crap you use the defense arrows as well.

One thing though, if you are going to play a defensive formation, it's better to pack the midfield than the defense unless you have seriously crap centerbacks, the sweeper in the middle would be more effective if he was infront of the defense instead of behind your centerbacks. So he might as well be a DMF right on the edge of the midfield.

Also the best formation is 3-4-3

Edit: It's better to have two dmf's, or one and a cmf than 5 defenders.

I dont think they do anything either but I use them all the time.

I hardly use the narrows. I just choose formation, tactics and changing the players positions. It usually works. So, I don't think it makes a big difference.

For instance, when I cross from the right, my LMF will run into the box and play the header. Formation A is only for when I'm in extremely deep crap with teams playing set pieces and free kicks and crap in front of my box. Also, the defense levels set how deep your guys go into defending. How can you guys ignore these features? No wonder you guys suck.

Also, felipe, the GK is in his normal spot. I just put him there as a guess.

I play on six stars now (instead of 5) and i win almost every game. Torres is such an amazing player, I scored 30 goals with him last season!

I dunno well the WE series is the only game all my friends play allot. I've got a couple of friends who spend hours setting up all that stuff and others who just do the basic formation and positions like I do. Also I tried using all those settings a few times and they seemed a bit of a hinderance more than anything.

If anything i'm finding WE10 a bit too easy I started the ML on 5 stars and have won all but one of my matches. Although it's nice now that you can change the transfer activity, which means the AI teams now are able to buy more than like one player a season. Also it's easier if you want to sell players as well.

I just sold off some crappy players and i'm looking for some decent replacements. Although it's fairly hard because i'm still in D2, mind you I try not to buy the better players and look for ones that develop with time instead.

Ya, I'm way late on this but..

I just purchased WE9 because I found it super cheap. (Did I mention, I am always late on the cool things) Anyways, I am looking for an option file for my japanese version of WE9 but am having a hard time locating one due to the large amount of info I have to sort through on the net.

Is there a certain option file, or site that would be the best place to go?

I can't think of any other Winning 11 boards, there are a few country specific ones but they aren't that big. But you'd probably find that they will be talking about WE10 anyway because it's the newest game.
