wipe savegame and dlc

Hi i'm the owner of gt5 academy, have the dlc installed and my career profile is on the advanced side.

i now wanted to start the career from scratch, but am afraid that doing so i would loose all the purchased dlcs. could you please let me know if this is the case?

All you need to do is delete the save data and not the game data. When you delete the save data, you will not lose any dlc. Once you delete the save data, start up gran turismo and go to the red button on the main screen and install the dlc's.

hmm that's not good... do you mean the ones which are not part of the DLC packs?

Also, I currently have lots of tickets cars in the lower left truck which I haven't added to my collection.
I suspect, from what you're saying, that I would loose them all.

The DLC is easily re-loaded. The Academy are not so easy.

You should open another PSN ID instead. Then you can keep your current game.

Sorry what do you mean by academy? are there some cars/features which are not dlcs and are just in the academy version?
I just thought that academy was
gt5 + pack of dlcs

EDIT: Plus I recommend before you do any delete do a back up of your game save to a USB stick and keep a copy on the PC.
Then if you decide that if your not happy you can always reload your save back on to where you are now.:)
 
Just to clarify, with 'GT5 Academy' do you mean the Academy edition of the game or just the game downloadable through the Playstationstore in which only a couple of challenges were given?

I mean gt5 academy edition, the game released this year.

The whole story is that I purchased the original gt5 when it first came out and got to level 27. I sold the physical copy of the game last year when I lost interest in it, but kept the savegames. I just recently purchased gt5 academy edition and activated all the dlcs and everything. I love it.
I just think it's soon going to be time to restart from level1, I just wouldn't want to loose any dlcs tracks cars coming with the academy edition, that's all.

Alright, well, Milldrum's advice should still be the best option. Just start another save at another PSN- and PS3-account.

hmmm, I'd rather backup my latest savegame to usb, wipe just the savegame and start from scratch, am I right to assume I would just be missing cars which are given as gifts at specific moments such as when you purchase the gt5 academy edition?

i'm just confused as to what other 'academy' do you refer to :)

Not so long ago they did an event called the GT5′s GT Academy 2012.
These are the Academy cars Mildrum is on about they were gifted has present for completing the event by getting golds.:)

If you followed the link given you would of seen the difference.

Now has for your copy of GT5 its this copy you have. LINK provided.

Now what he meant is when you delete your game you simply go to your account manager and re-install all DLC you have purchased. Thats all DLC that come with your edition of the game.:D

It is possible plus the free X whatever it is that we got for Vettel winning his championship.:)

I have to correct you on this. I just had to do a complete re-format due to some problems with my machine. Wiped everything and completely started from scratch. Loaded up my save from my usb and all my GT Academy cars that I had won were back. Didn't check to see if they were 0/0/0 tho but when I log in to that account again, I'll check.

Edit: Just checked on my academy cars and they came back the way I left them with one being used and the rest 0/0/0. Bottom line, if you have them saved on a usb, they will come back when you re-load after a format and fresh install.

Agreed I lost my vettel x2010 gift when my ps3 died.

Wrong. As I said earlier, I just did a complete wipe and format and everything in your list I got back when I reloaded my save from my usb.

Thats where I will correct you Sir, The bolded section in your quote.
You have taken a sentence and not looked at whole objective of the thread and what I answered?
If you read what the thread was about he wanted to wipe his game and start from afresh.
Not reload it back up from a save.:D
Now reloading from save will give you exactly what you had before you deleted anything off your PS3 but what he,s trying to do is basically like having a new start from scratch.

Not so long ago you only need to check my thread in the marketplace I had YLOD got new PS3 so it was like starting afresh. (Like the OP wants to do?)
Thats why I know when I loaded up my saves everything was back to how I left my old PS3.
All brand new tickets since I never opened them.
But on another account on the new PS3 it was totally empty not reloaded save and only things that went back was DLC items purchased.
Any gifted item did not get re-gifted, But if you load a save like you did then they would of been there?

And sorry GTP_CargoRat thats what the OP and people were trying to answer and let him know what he or anyone would lose if they started afresh.

With your answer you are right in what you say but reloading the save is where the OP is not wanting to go?

If you went yourself and started a new account and did NOT load any save back on you would not get re-gifted the items Sorg pointed out.
You would only get items you had purchased and redownloaded (re-install?) them.
