Rally: Will you be doing a Rally Eiger Review? Because i remember you doing one for the peugeot national rally.

Is the next rally at the same time?

Glad to see im in second

All I can say is I'm massively saddened by my result. Even without my penatly I lost badly at my best rally. USPS! Y U NO MAIL MY POWER SUPPLY FASTER!!!!????!?!??! Seriously. I have never run an K trail time over 4 minutes since I stopped using DS3. Excuses are like a-holes though. Just gotta race better. 👍

In your defense k trail isn't the easiest track

Right now, it is, but I've recieved a request if we can do it earlier/later, so I want to ask you all how much earlier/later you would be good with :)

I'm working on a review in the breaks at school, so it should be up at latest on Friday (yeah, we don't have much break  )

@Toyota drivers, the main problem with the Celica is that it was built to the old Group A regs while the rest are built to the World Rally Car regs (R.I.P. 1997-2010, still continues as 1.6 litre) so that might have a bit to do with the less power. Might look a bit eager but I still recommend switching to the Corolla.

well, I'd prefer a lot earlier, If I'm estimating it right its about 3.30AM for the room to open for me, then waiting then recce laps etc, the time frame it takes is fine, but its clashing with other series, we might be able to get more customers if we bring it forward an hour, then ghs and spaz can do their F10 championship, Mel and myself can go on to ITCC, and I believe there are others that have commitments too,

Dave, I had trouble waking up for DTM. I'm not even going to try to wake up for WRC earlier. So, let's not go too far earlier. I work afternoon shifts, afterall. Rally, that means 15:30-02:00.

Now we're at the times again  it seems that if any we'll be able to move it half an hour ahead or do it the way we've done yet (maybe shorten the rallies with a stage or 2 to allow for Mel, Dave and co. to enter their other series)

If I'm right in making the race an hour earlier would be an hour later then the DTM event just gone,

My Saturday morning includes DTM with F10 STOCK 2 hours after DTM race start. That means an hour after DTM, I may get to do this for an hour and then enter the F10 stock series as soon as qualifying starts. How long is a full event here?

I'm fine with a time adjustment, hate to see stages go but its fine. I wouldnt be against making the rally at a slightly earlier time, even though I have to get up at 10am on a saturday as it is :p

For the matter, the DTM is running what would be an hour before WRC did this weekend. I don't know if it changes things but I just wanted to clarify it :)

@GHS, varies depending on how many stages we'll end up driving, how quickly we can get started and how long it takes to go from one stage to another. IIRC the rally on Saturday took about 2 hours :)

So it seems like it's almost official. The options are:

keeping it as it is,
keeping it this time but shorten the rally,
start about half an hour earlier, and
start about half an hour earlier and shorten the rally.

Right now the 3rd and 4th seem to be leading.

there is a faster way, but makes it more difficult for you, without help,

we move the start forward half hour turn damage off or light, so we can fly through recce, it just means that you will need to penalize for on track collisions, but with assistance from myself and any other volunteers, but the volunteers would need to know the in's and out's of WRC real life to gauge the penalties, say +3 seconds for a collision that would mean the car is sent in the wrong direction, +5 seconds for a collision that would require the driver to bring the car to a stop/ reverse, ie,overshoot turn, potential loss of control of the vehicle and goes into a field, +7 seconds for getting stuck on a rock or tree stump, +10-15 seconds for roll overs, tank slapping a rock and getting a puncture,
If you have 2 people helping you do this, assuming each rally has 6 stages then we each take 2 stages, watch each car, report our findings to each other, then agree to the findings or discuss them, it shouldn't take too long and official accurate results should be sorted by tuesday night,

the way to report findings,
Driver, TDZdave,
stage, 5,
incident report/ penalty suggestion's,
incident 1, location, start line, Race time, 7.55, penalty suggestion +5
Jumped start by 5 seconds, due to being pushed across start line by the car behind, accidentally,
Incident 2, location, tunnel, race time, 8.01, penalty suggestion +15
vehicle hit tunnel entrance pillar after losing control in previous corner, estimated speed 120kph, also vehicle would have received heavy damage due to the high speed nature of the collision, also angle show's driver would have had to reverse vehicle before proceeding,
Incident 3, location, bridge, race time, 9.28, penalty suggestion +5
driver slide wide and in real life would have gone through fence and caused vehicle to travel down though the creek at a slower speed to rejoin racing surface,

we could openly publish these on the thread, if we are fair and consistent with them 90% of the field would be happy with them surely,

Could be possible but I think for season 1 we'll do it the way we've done until now :) you'll just need to remember to keep a fair distance in recce to not put pressure on the driver ahead (I was a perfect example of why to keep distance on the last stage  ), up in the first 2-3 cars we had about 5 seconds gap to each other but on the map I could see someone was not giving that much room

 I'm not against heavy damage, if your institutionalized , If its an issue of time duration then its the best way around it,

So, maybe I use the recce lap as a shakedown; I still try to give some room...

Yeah, the recce is a bit of both but I try to do my practice/shakedown done before the rally so I can use the recce to make pacenotes (finally made a deal with my brother about co-driving, cost is 2 multiplayer games per rally :/ Hopefully he is worth his payment, how many co-drivers just say "easy left, hard right" etc?)

um... SEGA RALLY

um... SEGA RALLY

 yeah, that might explain why I'm bad at that game, all you'll hear is "easy left, medium right, road narrows" etc with this monotone voice. Glad there 3 weeks to next round so I can train my brother to sound like Nicky Grist (best co-driver ever) :D

I actually like the "easy left, medium right" type of calls, that way I don't get confused with the gears and I can choose my pace better. The best example would be Dirt 2 in my opinion, and the male co-driver there is better than Nicky Grist IMO (sounding, not skill :D ) I just love the heavy accented Scottish guy

I don't wanted to start a co-driver war  I just think Nicky is doing his job great and if I ever become a real rally driver he's the one I want as co-driver :) anywho I'm making the final adjustments to the Excel sheet with championship results and might put it online for you guys to keep track of the standings yourself (if only I could figure out a way to make Excel count in minutes, seconds etc. Would make the time calculation a lot easier :) )

Edit: Download the Excel sheet for results so now you can keep track of the results without having to open this thread :)

I'm fine with changing times too, as long as they're not too significant. I'm usually free Saturday evenings, and if I'm not I'll post otherwise.

I think I might ask my mum to be a co-driver, she can do a good Alex Gelsomino impression . I'm just not quite sure how to recce my pacenotes, I mean, I'm happy to just write them down and then she can say them, I'm just not quite sure how to determine the number the turn is. I don't understand basic pacenotes, I need numbers! If I used a wheel it'd be easy, I could just do what they do in recce cars and put the labels on the wheel, but I use DS3, so... :indiff:

Funny, all this talk about co-drivers and I was just going to make a post about having picked up a co driver for the next rally :p

As for the formula and changing damage, etc. Glad to see you're sticking with the plan for this season. I was going to say I didnt want to see the heavy damage go. I am saddened by all of the accidents on the recce lap though. Seems a little rediculous. Maybe 15 second penalties should be assessed to any driver at fault for making contact with another driver on recce. Thats the importance of distance, as RM said earlier being glad he kept distance. He was talking about me because I spun in front of him on the recce at K trail reverse. Tapped L1 and RM was rolling up behind me, 'yeah he saw that..' :p

I'll sound like a hypocrite for saying this but we need to slow the pace down for recce. I say I'm a hypocrite because I was freaking flying on the Eiger tracks in the lead position. I figured we've been at this for months now, people should have Eiger figured out.

Since the next rally is part player made stages, I really would like to roll those much slower for recce. Especially since we're getting co-drivers now, a pace that gives them time to write would be excellent.
