I thought for sure I was going down for a second defeat in a row. ALLEY was just to verify it wasn't a ALL word and to make sure there wasn't a quirky Y in there someplace. I kept trying to figure out what could possibly be A followed by 4 consonants and I just couldn't come up with something. Then it hit me that it could also end in A since I had already tried A in positions 3 and 4. But still it took me a long time and in the end it was just one of those things that suddenly pops into your head.

What helped me hit it in two is that Alpha is the name of the main character from one of my all time favorite manga series, ヨコハマ買い出し紀行 Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (Record of a Yokohama Shopping Trip), the most calming, gentle, healing apocalyptical dystopia ever.
