Bleugh!

I hate myself for laughing at that... :D

What in hell IS "touge" anyway? That's got to be the stupidest word I've ever read. Apart from "stupidest"...

I think "touge" means mountain side or something like that.

I thought the word Touge was the Japanese word for mountain passes. Although i'm not to clued up about these things. Now Wangan, is a funny word.

I hate the American pronunciation of Jaguar.

Jag-war?

Or the American pronunciation of Coupe.

Well, that clears up the pronunciation of it for me... Cheers :D

(still a bloody stupid word though).

My favourite Japanese word is "bimbo", which means "poor". Apparently.

I hate when people refer to cars by the chassis code. I don't know why.

Or the engine... That kind of irritates me.

I hate it when people miss out the "it" in the phrase "I hate it when"... :D

Looking into it ("touge" that is), it would appear that a "touge" is indeed a mountain pass. In the sense that you can walk on it. A road over a mountain pass would be a "tougemichi". So next time you're hiking in the Cairngorms, watch out for some spanner in a SilEighty hanging the arse out.

Touge - (toe-gay)

Is a up and downhill race usually run in the mountains of Japan.
Two cars race, one behind the other. No passing is allowed. If the gap between the first and second cars has grown by the end of the course, the first car wins. If the gap between the cars has stayed the same or decreased, the second car wins.

Should be pronounced "Toe-oo-ger", all glissed into two syllables.

Then again, Romaji has a tendency to jump up and bite you - there are so many different transliteration methods of kana to romaji... I'm assuming the Modified Hepburn...

Edit: And apologies - I didn't say thank you for the info... :D It's always nice to learn something new.

Jag-wire, actually. And what's wrong with the way we say coupe?

You know, alot of us don't like the way you guys pronounce things, but we don't complain about it, you bloody wankers :trouble:.

Like the way the Brits pronounce aluminium.

Like (Al-you-minium) WTF?

Aluminium.

There's a whole letter there you sodding colonials never even bother with! :D

Coop - Where you keep chickens.
Coupe (pr. Koo-pay - there's a nice acute accent on the e, which I can't be bothered to find on the computer) - Sporty vehicle.

It's French.

So I guess you're right. :D

Mine would have to be "NOS"

Mainly because ricers reffer to all nitrous systems as "NOS"

i hate it when people say the word "fringe".. they always say it like... frrrinnnnnJJJa

i also dont like it when people write in colored letters

I hate it when people repeat a joke after its already been used, and remove all amusment the original telling caused.

Because the DC4 owns you, and you can't stand it.

dont like the word "bilge", as in ' bilge keel ' of a ship. Sounds like something a sick whale would do.

é = Alt (press and hold) then type 130 on the number pad.

Uuhhh... That's the wrong accent. Sorry, man. The one you want is: ƒ, or Ž. I have no idea about ASCII or ANSI or HTML codes, though. I switch to a French keyboard if I need it, so...

On which topic, isn't "Microsoft" an annoying word? Huh? Well? Isn't it? Guys? "Microsoft"? Say it thirty times real fast if you don't believe me.

And since when did anyone ever think that those two words together could possibly denote power?

Like Kleenex.

Rollerblade - as in, we're going to go Rollerblading. Rollerblade is a company trademark name. NOT the name of the sport so you can all stop calling it that. In the early 90's, they had to do an advertising campaign because everyone was saying Rollerblading as a part of normal language. This kept people from buying their products because the name became oversaturated...damn marketing class...i didn't want to learn this.

When people say schedule like shedule or chedule, omitting the hard "c" sound and/or "s" sound and replacing it with a "sh" shound and/or a "ch" sound.

One word I'm starting to see a lot here, and maybe we shouldn't, is ricer. The word beaner is considered offensive, so why not ricer?

I also see Japanese a lot. Now I know that is offensive.

Do any of you feel the same way?

There are also indiosyncratic things people say that are very annoying. A guy I work with will close 75 percent of his sentences with what I thnk is supposed to be "and that", but he pronounces it "enyat". First of all it's totally unecessary as it points to nothing and only detracts from his already vapid comments, and secondly because it is some made up pronucialtion of some made up word that he tosses out there as an obvious clarifier, enyat.

He also does this after he prnounces his sentences as if they are questions when they're not.
