Is there any place where u can check laptime records? I think ive driven a Lap record on autunm ring mini with a PDI 100 Kart, but i need confirmation

Short answer - No.

Long answer - Nooooooooooooo.

You could look for, or run, a lap time comparison thread here, but as not everyone will do it, you can never have a definitive answer.

Why do you think you have a world record?

Imagine the possibilities while filtering for the Leaderboards:

- choose course (what happens with courses with changeable weather and differences for percentages of rain quantity/surface water?)
- choose vehicle (what happens with HP/kW values since all engines are subject to wear and change of HP/kW values?)
- which tyre compound is used (filter one of the 9 variations possible for road courses)
- tuning prohibited: yes/no
- driving aids: (which out of 6 possible? what about SRF? what about ABS?)
- surface grip for course: normal/real (yeah baby, variables :D)

Crazy, I tell you :D

...DS3 or wheel, which wheel what settings, if the lap is fast its fast , you dont win anything either way save for a temporary ego stroke while some 1 drops a 2J on it. lol

Well, i was just wondering :D
but with that explaination i kind of get it, but for something like karting maybe :s

I think of it as a world record, because no one got close to that time 👍

So confused. Where exactly are you seeing a board with times compared for Karts? Are you dreaming right now?

^^

I think the OP would like to see one.

This is the best solution IMO.
Maybe offer a prize for anyone who can beat the time as an incentive. I'll take part. 👍

I have all world records in GT5.:sly:...But only for me in my PS3.:dopey:

I am the best!! Take that IA!! :dopey:

there was a site: gt3times.com or something like that, that had a database for recording lap times, race times, etc.

It was great, but obviously it's for GT3. I have found other databases for other releases in the Gt series between GT3 and GT5 too.

Most of these are not necessary. All they need are different lists for different configurations of different circuits and different classes for each. This is handy with Forza's PI rating system, which breaks car performance down into leveled categories, so you could look up C-class records for the full Nurburgring GP or A-class records for Suzuka west. The boards list icons next to each ranked time, indicating what assists were used, if any. You do the best you can with the car you've got on that track and hope you rank well, so if it means some upgrades and tuning to get the competitive lap time, that's what you do. Obviously taking a Formula One car against a Prius wouldn't be very fair, which is why performance is broken down into classes so that a Prius isn't expected to match an F1 car.

Would it be nice to filter out the players using assists to see how I compare against just the ones running no aids? Sure. We can't realistically expect a million different leaderboard lists, however.

If it's the one I'm thinking of an was on it was Racinglines. It was awesome, filters for tracks, country everything. If times were a bit unrealistic they would ask for proof, which was good. It's no longer around now though :( was unreal being no.1 in Australia, no.2 or 3 overall :sly:👍
Note: this was for using the F1 on the tracks.

Lap records for classes will not work for the same reason as Time Trial Seasonals ultimately come down to choosing the one car that is the fastest at the allowed PP-level. It would ultimately become a leaderboard for 1 car model only.

It would ultimately become a leaderboard for 1 car model only.

Exactly.

The Leaderboards as uniquely presented in GT5: Prologue - separate entry for every car on every track - was the ultimate playground for serious Time Trial efforts.

What was very helpful were two facts: all car were stock and were running on the same compound (on Time Trial lists). Also, for the *Monthly* challenges, cars were also limited by PP or model and tyres which produced extremely good competitive environment.

With complexity of GT5 and very different approach to cars - mainly with imposed handicaps for *ownership* through wear of engine - and needed difference for Stock and Tuned leaderboards, potential filtering becomes a nightmare.

Also, without separate filtering based on tyre-compounds, Leaderboards would become Racing Soft Festival of Crazyness™ in matter of first day and complete competitiveness would be non-existent. Also, without having all 3 compounds for separate category filtering, everything would become a Soft Compound Orgy of Meaninglessity™, so nothing would be solved again.

And then really comes the Weather/Change of Day tracks, because the challenge of running TT on wet-surfaces (and changeable environment/track temperature) would be highly-demanded by top-tier drivers.

As for assists, it is not really the same to drive Zonda R on Nurburgring with and without SRF/TCS. I have nothing against anyone who use it - let everyone play the way he wants - but what purpose are Leaderboards if those players that do not use assists can't be competitive because top-times are influenced by assists-usage? Filtering becomes a must again.

I was not joking in my previous post in this thread. In order to have real Leaderboards in GT5, we would need very, very complex filtering and database-tracking. All variables should be taken into perspective in order to satisfy such expectations of all types of drivers.

GT5P Leaderboard style using Arcade mode as a starting point and limited to premium cars to keep the numbers down.

That eliminates tuning, engine wear, oil changes, and with a slight update, tyres as well.

Remove the weather tracks and you are good to go.

I just sent the link to this thread to one of my friends that runs karts all the time and uses a controller also. He regularly finishes in the top 50 in the TT's and is very, very good with karts. If anyone can dispute the OP's time, it will be him. I don't run the things so I have no clue whats fast or not, but my expert should be here soon, lol.

Try the Seasonal Time Trials if you want to have a "world record"

I don't remember my best time with the 100 kart. I'll set a few laps when I get home.

Alright, my expert has arrived, lol. Interested to see what you come up with doodle. I figured if anyone could say anything about this, it would be you. Don't disappoint me little friend, lol.

As soon as a competitive leader board is established people will begin figuring out how to cheat.
When people figure out how to cheat they tell their friends
And they tell their friends
Pretty soon there's no purpose to having leader boards

Save the effort...don't create leader boards.

37.195 was the best I can do. I can get a 36.9xx but I can't seem to string together my best sectors. Well done.

With proper leaderboards people would eventually find cars that were better. If they can't the problem is with the PP system and unbalanced cars, not leaderboards themselves.

Sad thing here, people are being annoyed i say i THINK ive driven a record and then they get all annoyed? Or making me look stupid, i dont know. i was just thinking back to RaceDriver Grid, were all of this was possible

First of all, you need to stop double and triple posting as its against the AUP. Just edit your post.
Second, as daan has said, there is really no sure fire way to know this. I commend you on your time, but it is doubtful that its any kind of record. Fast yes, world record, highly doubt it.
